Default Dealer mistake... will they be able to change my order?

I ordered a yellow automatic several weeks ago, and was told by the dealer that the order has now been accepted. I checked the order status on the Chevrolet order tracker, and it shows "Queued For Production". The problem is, it shows a yellow 7 speed manual.

Hubby says he'll call the dealer in the morning to see about getting it changed to the automatic.

What are our odds of getting this changed?

Is the factory closed for the holidays? When will it reopen?

And finally, I did a search and see posts with codes like 3000, 3400, etc. I don't see any codes like that on the order tracking page. It only says "Queued For Production".

Thanks!

Status 3000 is kind of the point of no return. Only some things can be changed at that point and nothing afterwards.

The plant operates JIT and it takes a lot of effort to jockey things around once the scedule is set.

You could cancel your order and try again later but that is about your only option to add or delete anything from a scheduled order.

But I don't know what status I'm at. It only says: Queued For Production

Your dealer will hopefully tell you tomorrow. If not, the Customer Service Rep on here will find out. But you really need to connect with your dealer since they are the ones who messed up and will have to submit the change, if possible.

Wish it had the status code on that page. I'm qued for production and am at 3400 status wise.

Queued for Production on the Chevy Order Tracker covers status codes 3000-3400.

Your dealer should have given you a printout from the GM OrderWORKBENCH system for you to verify your order. They could have done this the day the order was entered into the system. My dealer verified my order with me no less than three times.

A professional dealer should have emailed you a PDF the moment he generated an order. Then you would not have this problem.

He then should email you a new copy of the updated workbench order on every Monday until the car is delivered. This shows the codes that are on this and other sites...

He is making $5000 plus on you, it's the least you can ask....

Good luck, hope your dealer can get things straightened out.

The reason I bought my 7 speed, VY, CY is because a friend ordered an automatic and someone at the dealership messed up. My friend didn't know this until he opened the door of the car at the dealership and saw it wasn't an automatic. Of course, the dealership put in his order right away and GM expedited it so he could get is as soon as possible. In addition, the dealership cut a good amount off the price. Hope your deal works out in quick order for you.

Should I wait until next week then? I assume the dealer won't be able to change anything until the 6th, correct?

Dealers are all back to work tomorrow..this is their final push for sales in 2013, so they are hustling to meet goals....let's hope they are not too busy to follow up with you!

Since you are at or past 3000, he will probably have to order another car. Unless your dealer has no allocation or you've ordered options on constraint, it shouldn't make a difference time wise, as changed orders go back to status 2050 initially. This is equivelent to a new order accepted for production.

As others have said, talk to the dealer right away. The fact that the factory is shut down for a few days has no affect on the ordering system. Waiting will just put you behind anyone else ordering a car Monday or Tuesday, as that's when orders for the week are generally finalized.

If the dealer ordered the car wrong and you can prove it, he's stuck with it -- not you. The only thing you lose is a little time.

I got the same. I ordered an automatic and the website said 7 speed. I emailed the dealer, and it was changed the next day. It just says, thanks for the order, but no codes. I do know I'm at 1100. That's the very beginning. Maybe after January 6, when they come back to work it will move to queued for production.
