My exhausts have been open since 12/13/13. That's when the car was delivered. Such a sweet sound. If lawnmowers could be made with that sound, men across America would cut grass everyday!
Lipstic,
Im with you. Always open, never to loud and it sounds great during WOT. I put it Auto the other day and after a few minutes my wife asked if something was wrong with the car.
Right back to "off" postion.

I back into the garage to give more room for the drivers door to open. That places the trumpets about three feet in front of my metal cabinet doors. Everyone knows when I'm leaving the house .
There are many variables with the settings (assuming you have the NPP) that also depend on which tranny you have. I have the A6 and have discovered that in most driving modes at a steady cruise speed, ECO will kick in and so will the baffles and loss of the rumble. I've found that pulling the shifter to full manual and paddle shifting only, keeps them open even at cruise in tour, sport, and track modes. I've not tried it in ECO or weather so not sure about them.

I have Npp and automatic. I think I am just used to loud hot rods.

that's because on an A6, by going to manual you are killing the AFM system..therefore the sounds change with the valves in front of the main valves...
Bummer. One thing I liked on my Audi RS5 was the ability to have a Custom mode--you could mix and match exactly what you wanted (exhaust, etc). Surprised C7 doesn't have that--pretty simple software wise.
I was actually surprised that isn't how it is set up. From all the talks and videos I had seen before the car arrived, it sure seemed like you could turn all 12 adjustments on or off for each mode the car was in. It was a bit of a disappointment that you couldn't, but I do understand the 5 modes is convenient for those who only drive the car 10 miles a year.
