Carbon flash is a paint color..nothing else...think metallic black
Hydro coat carbon fiber is a process not using real carbon fiber that looks pretty close to real CF- someone else I'm sure will explain in detail
Real carbon fiber is the dash....
3m DI-noc is a vinyl embossed like carbon fiber....peel and stick...

From: Los Angeles, CA.... I know a guy who has a Lambo with Corvette doors
Hydro is like a decal floating on top of a tank of water, the part is pushed into the water & the decal transfers to the part.

Glen and B R are correct.
The carbon flash is nothing more than metallic black.
They hydro carbon fiber is a "dip" that wraps around the piece being done. It's actually a cool process to watch. But it's not the real stuff.

Hydro Carbon is pretty cool... You can wrap almost any part you want pretty easy... Here's a video...
Its a good alternative for the owner that wants the CF look without the high price tag.

Other than hydrocarbon not looking like carbon fiber, it is pretty neat process.

The question I have is, is a cf dash lighter than a non-cf dash, or is it only for aesthetics?

If you have the carbon fiber dash, I would definitely go with the real deal with any accessories in the future.
