Default Waiting

I placed my order October 10 and as yet have nothing from the dealer other than my status is 1100 like a dozen others on the page shown me. How many shifts are they running when they resume on the 7th?
In 2005 the delay for delivery here on the Left Coast seemed endless so I ordered from Pontiac Michigan and the car was built very soon thereafter.

If you're still at 1100 (like me) running 25 hours a day 8 days a week won't help us. You (we) still don't have an allocation assigned to our order, and until the dealer can match the order with an available allocation we're going to sit here at 1100.

I placed my order on October 5 and have been at 1100 ever since. Even though I had an allocation, several options I ordered were and still are on constraint. Who the heck knows when I'll get my car but I'm REALLY tired of waiting. Even my sister, a Point A to Point B type person who cares nothing about cars, keeps asking when I'm getting my car. I made this grand announcement back in October that I'd ordered my car and still have nothing to show for it. It's embarrassing to keep telling people that it's coming, it really is, I really did order it. Get your azz in gear, Chevrolet!!

I, too, get endless questions from friends and it's like they don't really believe that production can be so flighty.

Around here, "oder" means more aged, as in "my younger son and my oder son."

As to the OP, yeah, get to a non-assclown dealer.

I'm second of 4 allocations my dealer has, I'm caught up in the Z51/FAY/Exposed Carbon Roof/Constraint dujour....

There are 9 fresh inches of snow on the ground here in Dayton OH, I can wait a couple of months for my 70k car. Will have to make due with driving it in Gt6

Buying from forum vendors propagates them getting more allocation in the future. If you want more regional allocation, order local.

Nothing against the big guys, but the allocation method is clear, and supporting your local dealer (assuming they aren't terrible) is a good thing.

That being said, I'll be forced to get elsewhere come spring if my local dealer can't get my order thru. Luckily Boardwalk isn't too far away if it comes to that.

actually buying the current allocations that your local dealer gets won't change allocations much, as it's not enuf to matter. How the local dealer gets to become a big boy is when these things go cold in a few years (or slow down) and GM comes to him and offers him 10-20 base cars, he takes them and works his *** off to sell them. That, and he goes out to other dealers are struggling/overloaded and buys their inventory...

Maybe you can get a car sooner from some of the larger dealers hundreds of miles away. That is great until you need warranty work. Now you have to try and have your local dealer fix it or drive/transport car back to selling dealer. Days or weeks could be lost with your new car sitting waiting for repairs. I will wait and should have car before model year end. Originally was going to order a 2015, who knows still could happen. In any event, I have a signed contract with local dealer, I'm sure I will get a car.

no you don't....although that was written here recently, that is not the norm....I have two dealers local that are more than glad to work on my car bought 1200 mile away....the majority of dealers want the service work if you look around...
