Any showdowns yet!
I know about the quicker 1/4 times. But seemed to better air and track too!
1/4 mile and less racing is real dependant on the 60ft time!
The nannies on the C-7 are hurting things on the start for the 7 spd!
But what about where most racing really is. Highway rolldowns!
Which I prefer, mostly do to the lot of time and work it takes to go
to the track and the many trips it takes to get the best results.
Then I really don't like pounding my car. Once I know how fast it is!
Then the variable's OMG! More fun to pull a another car on the roll! But don't be kid stupid where and when you do it!
I figured by now the Auto and stick will have will had squared off
on some highway by now!
I'm old school and like the manual. But think the C-7 I might try a Auto again!
I regretted it once on a 94 Z28. Bought auto then resold it to get back in a 6 speed!

I do race at Atco and I agree that the times posted were possibly the fastest we will see. There are only a few tracks that have similar air and track prep.
It is not an easy task to post those times with stock run flats in cold weather. I am sure the new Michelin tires helped but there is still some skill involved. There have been many times whereas we don't get down to the stripe in a straight line when it is cold.

In regard to the A6 vs the M7; the A6 in the C7 has been tweaked and the converter has a higher stall so the A6 will win in a drag race, auto cross and most likely loose in a road race.

Temps were in the high-40's/low-50's. Note the 60' times. And this was at test and tune, idling the car though the staging lanes in traffic, not pulling it up to the line after extended cool downs. First pass was 10-minutes off the street.
Considering only a few C7's have been run at the dragstrip by a few owners, the times posted are nowhere near the fastest we will see, IMO.
FWIW...LS3 A6 GS there tonight with Z06 inlet/filter, tune and the upgraded black spoke wheels with Michelins...he told me he ran a 12.0 at 117 mph.
