Default Finally, C7 vs C6Z.

Not my video. I browse YouTube often and FINALLY found a stock C7 vs stock C6Z video.

Corvette forum posted a C6 w/ cam vs C7 video on their front page and on FB, so I'm hoping that posting this is OK. If not, perhaps they can delete the thread and post this video to the home page also.

Posted in C6Z section. Figured it might get more response here

Dosn't prove much, various roll speeds with who knows as far as drivers or their intent.

Lets see a stock for stock in the proper place on a 1/4 mile drag strip with timing slips to get the metrics.

Oh look, the car with more horsepower pulled on the car with less in roll racing. Who would of thought. Like he ^^ said, eventually we will see the two go toe to toe at a drag strip. Why these guys thought doing this at night would be a good idea, I have no idea.

Terrible video

I don't think anyone with half a brain was under the impression that a stock c7 would outrun a c6z in a roll race. 120 mph car vs a 125-128 mph car.

I wonder if the hate for this video would've been the same if it showed a C7 dragging a C6Z06 down the freeway?....Lol

Corvette Racing - C6 Z06 vs 2014 C7 - (use HD setting) - YouTube
Not against the C7 and
Poor Video and all the C7 owners will take this poorly!
But it clearly shows the faster car! All the C7 owners can bark all they want the ZO6 clearly mashes the C7 on the roll and in the 1/4
with a good driver. Stock C7's can hope they hit a poor driver with the
ZO6! C7 lays down to shift right when the higher RPM, higher HP 7 liter takes over!

Now, THAT was impressive! That first set of headlights really whipped on the second set of headlights.....or was it the second set whipping on the first set? Oh, well, really great headlights-shining-at-night video!

That is on a good day with cold temps, an optimal DA and a favorable track. When late spring/summer hits, your looking at 115-118mph. It will take at least a tune to get near 120 during the summer.

lol the responses are as I expected. I mean no offence to anyone here. I have seen a LOT of yip yapping on the forums about people thinking the C7 is as quick, or at least close to a C6Z.

Coming from someone who does AutoX and has gotten into road racing, lets face it, the extent of MOST vette owners racing is on the street, or maybe on a drag strip once or twice. Regardless of the poor video quality (I agree), it CLEARLY shows the C6Z dominating from a roll. Anyone with half a brain would know the C6Z would beat out the C7 in a drag race as well given equal conditions and drivers.

I'm not C7 bashing... I own a H/C/I C6Z, and will move on to a C7Z when I'm ready. I'm not a first year car kind of guy, so I'll enjoy my Z for the time being.

After all the talk on here about these two cars, you would think a video comparison would be welcome. Don't have your panties in a twist folks. It's all in good fun.

Let's not forget the video that was posted by corvetteforum. The "modified" C6 vs the C7. A lot of C7 owners sure were happy to see that one! Show some good taste and don't hate so much when you don't like something.

According to a lot of posts on the forums, the lack of HP in the C7 compared to the C6Z does not mean much lol.

Why at night? Um I'd suspect that would be due to lack of other cars on the road. Makes sense to me.

Why the exterior mounted GoPro? That's the bigger question, and that's why the video sucks.

Well, it sort of takes skill out of the equation (No Launch, no turns) and shows which car is faster in a line.

People have been doing this sort of thing for YEAAAARS. It's always been a measuring stick, and I'd venture a guess it always will be.

it proves nothing though, 1) it's a rolling start and 2) whoever is doing the count down ALWAYS gets the jump.

It proves that if random joe in the C6Z runs into random joe in a C7 in a random place and gets into a rolling start race, that most likely the random joe in the C6Z is going to win.

Like I said, this is the closest most vette owners will get to racing their cars IMO.

I'm a part of many car clubs. I'm usually one of the few who have actually been on a track. Lots of stories of street encounters though.

Based on the number of times they raced in the vid, I'd venture a guess it would not have mattered that the C6Z got the jump. I agree though, that he COULD have been getting the jump. Hard to tell in the vid.
