Don't fool yourself guys. There is a huge variance on what dealers are getting on the Z51 package cars as well as the non-Z51 package cars. I travel all over the United States with my job and I have spent a lot of time in Chevy dealerships lately. It's amazing that in San Angelo, TX they are asking $5K over MSRP on non-Z51 cars....and they claim they are getting it. I told them that Kerbeck and others are already taking up to $3K discount on these cars. Do you think they cared? NO....because buyers are willing to pay them what they are asking. In Columbia, MO they are still asking $10K over on z51 cars...and this was of two weeks ago. I happen to live in a small town in Northeast Missouri and we have a small Chevrolet dealership that DOES have allocations.....and it is at this dealership that I have negotiated a $4K discount on a 2015 Z51 car. Probably doesn't hurt that I am the retired Superintendent of Schools from the same town either in all fairness. My point is.....don't get lulled into what you read and what may be the easiest route. That will never yield the best price if that is important to you. For the doubters and for the guys who paid well over sticker for their car and want to throw water on buyers being able to do better than them.....just take a seat and watch.

In Southern California, mark ups for both Z51 and non Z51's are anywhere from 5K to 20K over MSRP. That's why I bought out of State. Even with the hassle of going through the ridiculous Registration process with a new out of State Car, it's worth it.
Besides, I ended up paying $2,500 under MSRP for mine, a Z51 2LT with all the goodies. Even after shipping costs, I'm still $1000 under. Of course, now I wish I had just driven the Car back.
And yes, the Dealers here are getting buyers at those prices.

I would say that at the time you bought your car 2,500 under MSRP was a very good deal....and in reality still is. Congratulations. I too will be getting the Z51 2LT loaded out My local dealer originally agreed to go $3K under but after visiting further he dropped another 1K. It's nice dealing with a smaller dealership where you actually negotiate with the owner rather than a salesman.
I am negotiating an at dealer cost letting the dealer keep the hold back money., for a 2015. We all know the economy will tank by June leaving unemployment at about 6% and the DOW at about 17,200. No one will be buying Corvettes or any other car. I see the layoffs coming in Bowling Green when the production falls to 40,000 units a year.
I think you need to get your medication levels checked there dude!

See fits right in with the other predictions on this thread...
Bill,
I am also looking for dealer cost for a 2015 factory order. Please PM me when you work it out and I will probably buy from the same dealer. Maybe you'll even get a "bird dog" fee from the dealer in the process...
PS: Unlike the post immediately above this one, I really mean it...
I really love driving my old 2014 Z51 non ZO6. Maybe I could have waited and not have paid MSRP but I am a guy that enjoys the best technology now. Who knows, while you are waiting your life is up (as in dead), that money saved become worthless. Living for tomorrow is not always the best thing.
I do hope your dreams come true but much could happen in the next 8 months, I am just saying.

Just like everything else, a balance is typically needed. If you always live like there is no tomorrow and are an early adopter on everything new, you will end up spending a lot more than someone who waits for deals and over time the more patient person is going to be able to afford nicer things. However, if all you ever do is wait for the best deals and stress too much over getting the best deals, you will miss out on some fun, and there is always a chance you could be dead before you ever get what you want. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, but you have to live in such a ways that you are prepared for a tomorrow as well.
The way my order is moving, my 2014 might automatically turn into a 2015. I would rather have the 2014 in spring for summer top down travel. My C6 was ordered and delivered in two and a half months. We will see.

Ordered from a smaller forum vendor who was upfront and told me they only had 1 allocation left for 2014 and it was a Z51 one. Placed my order and gave them a deposit that day on 11/21. The order immediately went to 2000 upon entering it
I expect that we will see an increase of the base price at least once if not twice this model year. This "cushions" the increase for 2015. It happens every year on every model. I also expect to see an increase in price for the Z51 package. It is an incredible value for the little that it costs over the base price. I believe that Chevrolet realizes this and that the present price is driving the demand of the Z51 higher than they had expected.
I won't disagree that at some point there will be discounts offered. Once the demand for this awesome car is met it will happen. At present there are a more Chevrolet dealers who can't order a Stingray than there are dealers who can. It's all really a matter of supply and demand that is further enunciated by the very competitive pricing of the new Stingray.
Stingrays today at MSRP are a great value if the car increases in price and then dealers offer a discount. The bottom line is that prices with discounts next spring and summer could be the same as MSRP today. Time will tell.
For those wishing to purchase a new Stingray at invoice...Chevrolet dealerships are businesses not charities. We are in business to make a profit and to offer great service to our customers. When we can't make a profit then our businesses don't survive.
Have a great day and for those of you who taken delivery of a new Stingray, I truly hope that you find it as incredible as I do!

The way I figure it, even at invoice, considering the 3% holdback, you are making an average of $2,000,.00 for each Stingray you sell. Isn't that enough, or are you seriously looking to make more commission then the real estate agent that sold me my HOUSE? So please keep your "charity" B.S. to yourself. Remember, as my grandma said, "Greedy, greedy, greedy, makes for a hungry puppy"...

Wow... lemme guess.. you're an OWS supporter If you think $2K profit is "enough", you're woefully ignorant of what it takes to run a high overhead business. And car dealerships are HIGH OVERHEAD.
Then again, it's none of your damn business HOW much profit a business makes. If you don't like how much they make, go somewhere else...sheesh

Ahh but he was willing to be generous and "let the dealer keep the hold back money"... Like that's enough to keep a dealership running.
As a business owner I agree with you, I choose not to do business with people who do not understand it takes money to employ people and keep a business healthy. I target and only work with customers who want me to make money so I'll be there when they need me and not be run into the ground by nickel and dimming.
Unfortunately most have a negative view of a dealer and think they make too much because they have a nice showroom or lots of inventory. If they traded places with you for a day they would be shocked to see how much it costs to run a business well.
However it's the dealers at MSRP+ that I do feel deserve to be knocked around. There is no other explanation other than gouging to take advantage of the situation purely to pad their bottom line. I truly hope you and the other vendors benefit from their greed and help those get cars without getting screwed.
cause the dealers are trying to scare people into buying 2014s the 2015 will have a lot of nice add ons and the dealers don't want to be stuck with the 2014 their will be an increase but not enough to for people to run out an buy 2014 that's what happens when you buy first year model you miss out on all the goodies that are coming I expect a lot of people will try and dump their 2014 for the zo6 or the upgraded versions thus a price drop and dealers selling at mrsp will have to lower there prices
