Default The C7 Pigeon Effect

As I consider leaving my C6 for a C7 I consider the big reasons to switch to the new model as well as the crappy reasons to switch.

Specifically, bird crap.

It's hard to win the Park and Show at the vette shows when the lint police judges catch a glimpse of the big white turd living inside the vent.

To the new C7 owners out there - when those heaven facing black vents become the backstop to flying white doo doo what do you do to clean it out? It looks like a nightmare. Can you shoot the garden hose into the vents? Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Toothbrush perhaps? Remove and rinse?

I always ask myself, what would Wolfdogs do.

I think you are worrying too much about this. I will honestly say this idea NEVER crossed my mind. If it happened I'll just use a wash mitt and clean it. This car is lightyears ahead of the C6.

You can spray it out. No problem.

It's just an air flow channel. Water won't get into any critical mechanical components and cause problems.

Snow and rain get inside and out doesn't hurt anything.

A total non-issue.

I thought the vents were going to be a nightmare to keep detailed, but they are not bad at all.

I do wonder about the debris, leaves and stuff, that go into the vents. The other day, I opened up the wheel well liners on the back wheel wells expecting to clean out leaves. Nothing.

Carbon flash metallic paint cleans up really easy. My 45th anniv. camaro ss is painted that color and it hides dirt pretty well. Bird pooh has not been a huge issue, but when I have been under siege, it cleaned up just fine. Buy a C7!

Given the quantity of pigeons, seagulls, and cat sized crows in my area, the odds are greater than one thinks.

This was my number one worry about buying a C7. So, I covered the vents with duct tape. Since then my climate control does not seem to work correctly.

There's an invention called a "bottle brush" and they come in all sorts of configuations that work well in tight places. Plus, I'd avoid parking under trees and lamp post too.

And I've always been led to believe 'duck' tape fixed everything!
