The c7 is best corvette of the eight I have owned but I am glad its gone. The negatives for me were: head hitting b pillar, Even though I got museum delivery panel gaps, orange peel, and a poor paint job on the hood. Overspray I guess. This is the first year model run I have bought so maybe this minor stuff will be addressed. I was trying to wait but fell for the c7 excitement! Luckily I got a 1000 over invoice deal from dsm in Idaho and with my gm card earnings I came out great! I would love a z06 but I guess I will not be able to wear a helmet unless a lower seat track can be done.
I think you are the only person to have picked up a car at $1,000 over invoice. Not that I'm doubting you but do you have details? Even the large dealers with lots of inventory aren't offering those prices but a dealer in Idaho with probably more limited availability (compared to the big ones) did? Seems weird.
Regardless, glad it was the best Vette you've owned and that things worked out for you.

I think he's saying he was given $1K over for his car.
That being said, I ordered through DSM myself and am paying $3K below MSRP for a Z51 (ordered 11/21). And it's built and waiting to ship

Congratulations! Every time I put something on this forum that I will be getting my Z51 for 4k under MSRP it evokes waves of disbelief. It's amazing that so many of the city buyers think they get the best deals from Mega dealers. Simply isn't true. What better place to pick up a C7 than from a dealer that gets 2-3 allocations a year and is used to selling tons of 4x4 pickups to farmers in the mid west......(even thought they can cost as much as a corvette) These dealers are not used to getting the big prices from the big money earners......therefore they don't ask it. It is all relative. Again....awesome for you.

Well.. I've made a few boo boos here and there too so all I can add is that I know what my paperwork says, I have the dealer invoice in my hands and I have no reason whatsoever to doubt I'm getting the deal I've contracted for.
In fact, if anyone wants to run the numbers:
Z51 w/MRC
Laguna Blue/Jet Black 2LT
Nav upgrade
Red Calipers
NPP
Transparent roof
Base wheels
Dave smith motors sold me the car at 1000 over invoice or about 4100 off a 60,700 msrp. I could only order a non z51 car. I ordered from them before they became a supporting dealer here! Then gm card earnings on top of that. I like the seat all the way back and reclined as well. Im only 6 2 but maybe long torso. It was a cyber gray and the color on mine always looked more blue to me. I love cyber on the c7 pictures and on the c6. I would have put up with being a little cramped I guess if I liked the color more. Even in the full sun the blue flakes didn't pop!

$62,375 is what my paperwork says
I have less options but I signed on the dotted line for a clean $51,000, plus ttl.

Dave smith had customers waiting on z51 allocated cars and they got some additional allocation. They discounted to move the cars. I guess they figured they would sit in the snow if they took the allocation without a order. So I ordered and even tried to cancel right at 3000 status but they had my 5000 dollar deposit and they said they would keep it if I didn't buy. So I got the car from museum early December and now its gone.
They sell all there vehicles under invoice except corvettes and the vipers..
We on the forum are excited about vettes but that is no reason to overpay. I asked local dealers to me for a discount? They said msrp plus paperwork fees of 600 dollars. If they would have done 2000 I would buy locally. So I started calling dealers until I found my deal.
