If the splash guards are going to protect the the paint on the rear as well as the flare of the rear fender they need to be longer as well as wider.
The softer compound tires on the C7 pick up every thing.
It may be a better idea to come up with a protector plate for the bottom of the rear of the car so that those who choose dark colors will not have paint damage.
GM makes a wider one as an accessory. Do a search in the vendor area, I have a set on mine. They were much less than $300.
I bought the front and rear sets for the Z51 from GM Parts House. They were about $70 for each pair and both the front and rear sets installed in less than 20 minutes. With all the sand and small pebbles here at the beach the original guards looked like they had been hit with buckshot after 2800 miles. The new set are about 3/4" wider but should work a lot better.
