i know there have been posts on this subject already, but i am looking to get window tint put on. The installer i am talking to uses Madico Charcool for the non Ceramic tint. I don't really want to spend the money for the Ceramic film. Anybody have experince with Madico Charcool? What tint did you go with? i am looking for stable color, clear view and lifetime warranty.

I had the tint on my C7 put on at Demontrond Chevrolet in Texas City TX. I don't know what brand was put on but it was a very good job. We have since brought our C6 Corvette and my 2014 Impala there and had them tinted also.
I went with Llumar Air80, originally I did ATC something nano-ceramic 30% all around. Got halfway done with it & just didn't like it. I'm tired of not being able to see behind the car at night. friends/family looking at you behind the tint not knowing if it's really you. It's just where I'm at in life...
So I pulled the 30% tint off the & took it to a Llumar dealer locally they put this Air80 clear tint on all windows (including the front). So far I like it. There's a slight reflection to it from the outside & it does take the blinding glare out of the noon sun but you can still see fine at night. The Air80 gives the windows a slight blue tint in much the same way coke bottle glass has a slight green tint to it.
Right now, I'm enjoying this tint but 6months from now... I dunno? We will see if I'll keep it thru an Arkansas summer.
I've had Madico non-ceramic, 3M dye sub and Llumar ceramic. The Llumar is superior in regards to heat reduction and the nano-ceramic is superior in regards to being more scratch resistant. But, be careful. Their light reduction is darker than other companies. 15% of their film is going to be darker than 15% of another. Never seen the "Coke bottle color" problem, unless it was a specific colored film. That's easy enough to check in the light prior to them installing it, though.
I tend to agree with no tint enabling vision. I think tint looks cool, but sucks from a practicality standpoint. Hell, I may tint it up, but it is truly form over function.
Down here you need the tint. I had my C6 tinted when we moved here and I worried that the night driving would be worse...but it isn't. Of course I had it done to max FL law allows and not some criminal style.
The Air80 tint by Llumar is a clear tint, I use that term loosely because it goes give a slight sheen or mirror effect from the outside & I mean slight. The tint also makes the glass look slight bluish when viewing thru the glass. Overall there's very little it offers in the way of privacy, but that's not it's intent. The purpose is to completely protect the interior & it's occupants from the sun's rays.
My hope is that with the addition of the front windshield being tinted that the overall effect is the same or better than having the sides & rear tint with the traditional tint & the front only having the strip across the top. Considering how large the front windshield is & the angle at which it's mounted I doubt any amount of tint elsewhere in the car would amount to much cooling without including the front windshield.
Additionally 3M makes a similar tint called crystalline or something like that, & offers it in various shades 90%-50% I believe. Which is better I have no idea..?
