Default V4 Mode

I have driven my car in all modes and I understand there should be a light that comes on in the center cluster when the car is in V4 mode. With over 1500 miles on the car , not once have I seen this light, is this correct. I have read on here where you cannot hardly tell when the car switches from V4 to V8. I think the car goes to V4 but I am not 100% postive. If it is just a lamp unpluged I don't know if I want the dealer cracking my dash open just to plug it up. Any thoughts??

You have to be in a certain screen, I know today I was in sport mode with a sub screen that showed how many miles left till needing more gas in that screen you will see a small v4 or v8 readout, its there just look for it, your car is fine you just need to find that screen.

Yep I have an auto. I'll play around with the screens and see what happens. I figured that would show up in any screen setting.Manual did not help me much, unless I missed it.

Here you go just saw it in sticky - this will help you - this is what you are looking for ===== •Fuel Range – Indicates V4/V8 Mode

Range and AVG. MPG. are displayed on the center screen on the IP.

Set the driver mode selector to Tour or Sport.

Using the left arrow key on the steering wheel, bring up the options menu.

Use the up and down arrow to select the "I" button at the top of the list which is the information menu. Press the SEL key in the center.

Now, using the up and down arrows, scroll through the available displays under the tachometer. They will scroll through the following:

•Speedometer in a digital display format.
•Trip meter A.
•Trip meter B.
•Fuel Range – Indicates V4/V8 Mode
•Eco Index information.
•Oil Life Remaining (expressed in percent)
•Tire pressure sensors
•Best Fuel Economy / Average Fuel Economy
•Fuel Used / Timer
•Engine hours and Lifetime RPM

Go to the info screen > From the first item (the big MPH), Press down 3 times.

4th item in is the V4/8 mode, your instant economy and the range left on your tank.

you need a friggin' phd in mechanical engineering or computer science (fortunately, i have both) to figure out how this beast works. most people will never understand all the feature regardless of how long they own it.
