Thanks Doug. I have talked to the dealer. He is going to take $2,000.00 off the MSRP now and agreed that the market has changed considerably especially for non-Z51's. I would have bought it at MSRP anyway as that was the deal but just as incentives in place at the time of arrival can be used to reduce the price so should market changes. They are still getting the car for $3,700.00 over invoice so we are both happy.
Maybe the dealer can't give you a below MSRP deal - after all you did have a deal, BUT maybe you can get him to throw in an extended warranty, tire/wheel warranty, car cover, etc. to equalize the price. By doing this, you honor the deal, and the dealer throws in some benefits to you that he can give to you at his cost.

I am glad to hear you were honest with the dealer and worked it out like an adult. It amazes me how many sleezy responses on here telling you to make up a story and lie. That tells me a lot about peoples morals and character, and its sad.
