How did you go about getting this done? "I also had the windows tinted, xpel installed, grill "blacked out" and splash guards installed before I left."
Sorry for the slow response, I coordinated it all through Shane at the museum. I brought the splash guards and vinyl strip with me.
First off, thanks to those who post informative and insightful posts on here. This has been a great tool for me to learn about the Stingray before I got it. Additionally, it was a form of cheap therapy to hold me over till I picked up the car. Man, am I glad that wait is over!!!
I ordered the car from a dealer in DFW not having any realistic timeline of how long it would be till I got it. The answer was right in front of me in my username. 99 long days from order to pickup. I took delivery from the NCM on Friday and it was a great day!! I bought a Laguna Blue Z51 2 LT with MRC, NPP, black wheels and red calipers. I also had the windows tinted, xpel installed, grill "blacked out" and splash guards installed before I left.
This was my first time to see the car on the webcam:
There were lots of challenges and small bummers about the process between the plant being down when we did the tour and the weather causing issues but overall it was a fantastic experience. The staff at the museum was responsive, attentive to detail and very pleasant to work with. It was cool to meet some other forum members there as well.
We spent the rest of the weekend spending time in Nashville. We went to the Opry, Ryman (took an interesting back stage tour and played a little guitar on stage), Country Music Hall of Fame, RCA Studio B and Broadway bars. I will never forget the experience.
The drive home was rough with the weather that sincity already posted about. Im still trying to work through some annoyances on the car but overall, it is AMAZING!!
Best of luck to you all and enjoy this great car!!
Question: How did you get it to have the grill blacked out before you took delivery? Oh and btw, she is a beauty, congrats!
Thank you, this is a fantastic car! I bought the vinyl strips before hand from one of the forum dealers and took them with me.
Got a suggestion on who to go with for this? My car is being built next week, and hopefully taking Museum delivery not to much longer after that. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for all the compliments. It's amazing how much attention these cars get. Crazy story.....
I had a detailer wax and put a polymer on it on Friday. He took a picture to show his buddy. Today the detailer came back to do my truck and said his buddy looked at the picture and laughed. He then pulled out his phone and showed where someone else had taken a picture of it while I was driving and posted it to Facebook. Kinda creepy...
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
