Default bitch or not

The in stock vehicle Im ordering didnt have the z51 spoiler .. they are charging me $650. However on their website it says $593 installed and the dealer is telling me GM runs their site and the price is wrong. Its not a lot of money but more the principle. Should I bitch about it?

This is just another example of how some dealers are starting to take advantage of the popularity of the new Stingray. We are talking a $57 difference and the dealer can't eat this? Please!

In other words the vette was in their inventory, not being built for me and had everything I wanted except for the z51 spoiler. So I asked if they can add one on before they deliver it to me and they said sure..for $650 but their website says $593. Again which he claims is run by GM and wrong. This is forum dealer not a local dealer

If you are saying that you agreed to buy an in stock vehicle and then afterwords they added a spoiler and now want to add that to the bill -simple answer, just say no - it is a matter of principle.

Well the thing is I agreed to the $650 to add the spoilrt..not knowing their website said $593. I then questioned him on it and that was the reply I got. Im spending 60K so I really dont wanna bitch about $50 but I kinda feel its not cool to not honor the advertised price. Or am I being to nitpicky?

Didn't see it mentioned or asked, but is it possible that the additional cost is labor et al for installation?

If the vehicle is a Z51 model, the spoiler would have been installed at the factory. Non-Z51 model, the dealer will install a spoiler if you pay for it. As for the price, the GM site usually has the correct price posted for parts and accessories but dealers are free to mark them up.
Good luck with your Stingray.

I think the difference here is, the price $593 if you order a new car and order it with an optional Z51 spoiler, thus it is priced by GM. In your case, the car has already been built and it is what it is. You are choosing to add a Z51 spoiler after the fact (as far as the car is concerned), therefore you are hiring the dealer to add a part to your car and they are charging you what they want to charge you, which is their right. If you had ordered the car, it would still be a dealer installed option offered by GM, but since it wasn't ordered with the car it wasn't priced by GM. No different than if you asked them to tint your windows before you picked up the car. They would give you a price and you agree to it or not.

If it bothers you, ask for a better explanation and talk to someone higher up the dealership food chain.

The fifty bucks is less than a tank of gas and less than 0.1% of the total price of the car.
