If you getting black its not worth it. I have a black 2LT is I think it looks great. If you want the leather smell buy the spray and save 4k.
I'll have to disagree with that. I have the black interior and wanted the softer upgraded leather that the 3LT package has all around compared to the 2LT. Its more than just about looks, feel and quality are important to me.

I ordered mine with a JB 2LT interior.
Once the hoopla settles down and parts become available, I plan on replacing some trim with AR ones. I can't stand all red interiors but red highlights are very especially on a blue car
I did not especially want a 3lt but the car I wanted had the 3lt package and I thought it was stupid and the suede would collect lint and look like crap BOY was I wrong on all 3 counts.
Super soft, no lint, and I love it.... difference is the type of leather used in 2lt vs 3lt both good in thier own right but if you can afford it dont let the 3lt stop you from enjoying a great car with a really nice option.
According to Harlan, the 3LT is quite popular. Makes sense, as a makeover of the interior was desired by many. So, unless the budget is tight, seems like the 3LT is the way to go to fully enjoy the new C7 interior. When I go to a C7, I wouldn't consider anything but a 3LT or 3LZ in the Z06.
I for one would love to see all black 2LT and 3LT interiors side by side; I'm curious to see just how different they are in appearance, feel, smell, etc. It's easy to perceive the differences in 2LT vs. 3LT in the other colors but I'm not so sure about the all black. According to Harlan, the only way he can tell the difference is by looking at the "AIRBAG" marking on the passenger side of the dash. On a 2LT it's a stuck-on plaque of sorts while on a 3LT the letters are embossed directly into the dash leather.
The 3lt gives you all leather interior, leather door panels and leather dash.It was worth the extra 3K not 4k as mentioned
The 2lt is all vinyl except for seats and console arm rest.

2LT - $4,210
3LT - $8,005
Difference - $3,795
Closer to 4K than 3K
Also, 2LT has more leather than you claim. Might want to have another look
Custom Leather-wrapped interior
Nappa leather seating services
Navigation (optional on 1LT/2LT)
Instrument panel in interior color
Doesnt even seem worth 1,000 let alone $4k option
My big gripe with the 3LT is having to get the Nav. Do wish the Nav were optional on all trim levels. I will never order a touch screen (or any Nav--that is what a phone is for) in a car without kicking and screaming.

I think he's referring to the nav system worth $800 included in the 3LT that isn't in the 2LT package, making the real dollar difference with equal content 3 grand instead of 4 grand.

To each their own, I suppose, but the C7's navigation is pretty darned good. I'd much rather be able to see directions on the HUD and dash screen than have to look down at a phone.

Considering the base 1LT with no nav still has a touch screen I'd say you need to start kicking and screaming.
In regards to the options.... I have had base model Corvettes and fully optioned Corvettes. When you are driving through the twisties the leather on the dash won't mean a thing. They do look nice at car shows though. So just get what you like. If you don't care then you will never care. If you do care then you will regret not getting it. It's really that simple.

Newest phones are orally programmable and just tell you the directions as you drive--do not need to look at anything. I just don't want any kind of touchscreen--I have to look down to set them, which is a no-no, to me, in a car. Toggles or buttons with good detent can be set without looking down. But, I do not begrudge anyone his Nav--i would just like to be able to delete it, but you cannot on the 3LT option.

Yep, I understand. A good set of switchgear to me blows away any kind touchscreen. Your car should be designed so you can make all adjustments without looking down. I find it odd a car with a HUD--designed for that purpose--then has controls that force you to look down....

its mostly about the interior. personally, i prefer the way the 2lt shows up. the 3lt interior doesnt show well to me--it just looks contrived. not attractive.
