Maybe next time
1 waiting so long to order
2 buying that Ugly ( but fast) Nissan.. Why do you think the dealer had a GT-R?
OP, you'll love the GT-R, especially if auto DCTs are your thing.
That said, I LOVE my Z51. There is no other car that I want more, currently, for less than $100k plus. Given the choice of a GT-r vs my stingray for free, I'm biased, but I honestly think I'd take the stingray. I love everything about it -- heck I ordered everything I wanted.
One final note to the OP here -- I don't think you'll find any sympathy, storming onto a forum where people have been waiting for the rollout and deliveries of this car for nearly a year now, with some JUST having received their cars (many more still waiting). You ordered 7 weeks ago. Any amount of research would have turned up the following: the car (especially z51) is very much in demand, there are production constraints, only a handful of dealers currently have the ability to get you a newly ordered car moving down the line with some of the harder-to-come-by parts/options.
Of course, dollar for dollar, the C7 "Stingray" is a better value but I am not arguing that. Simply stating the GT-R is an amazing car and the OP will love it.

but what might have been more helpful---to you---is to have known the process, the problems, the dealers, the allocations, etc. had you been on here BEFORE you ordered. all the people complaining about their local dealers not getting any allocation, having allocation and not getting cars----all legit.
but as you said in your second(or first) post, "should" was one of your words. if you wait for "should" in much that you do, it won't happen at all. not that you are wrong, it's just the way many/most things work---not to the "should" of how it should be.

so, move on, enjoy the nisssan, maybe Chevy will see you again, and maybe next time around you will do a slightly more involved type of homework to find how to actually get a hot, first-year product. good luck.
