My wife's C7 coupe is getting built in April, and we're doing museum delivery- driving back to Northern California. One question I had that I couldn't find in the forum was about the cargo space when the roof is stored back there. Does anyone have a sense of the volume and height of the space? Is there a luggage set that is designed to fit? Thanks in advance!

The room is about the same as the C6. A suitcase would have to be small in height. Use soft luggage or put your stuff in plastic bags so you can flatten them out.
Actually I have fit 2 golf bags (yes carry bags not cart bags) with the roof. I suggest using a soft duffle bag that isn't very tall and you should be fine. So yes its def possible if you done have big luggage
We have the C7 with the 2 top option and I would not recommend trying to stow anything other than very soft items next to whichever top you stow if you do in fact have the 2 top option. I don't know which would be prone to easier scratch damage. Do you have the exposed CF roof and the clear or the painted CF roof? There is not much useable room with a top stowed without putting something on top of it and then you have the possibility of it becoming a missile under hard braking or worse. I tend to agree with the earlier post of shipping one of the tops home.
We did not go with two tops- went with visible carbon. It's just that driving down Route 66 with the top off is an option we'd also like to retain for the drive home. We'll make sacrifices as necessary, including packing very lightly, to make this work.

Pack light using soft bags, and have an awesome and safe drive home.

How cool, Route 66 in a Corvette! We may have to do this one just because! Normally, we fly and we have landed on Route 66 in Santa Rosa N. M. The airport runway was originally part of Route 66. If you post your trip to the forum we can live through you! Sounds like a lot of fun.

The best thing to do is pack in a couple of smaller duffel bags and bring two or three pillow cases. you will be able to fit the duffel bags with some contents removed under the top and then fit the pillow cases with clothes in them around the back of the top.
Any airline carry-on luggage will fit under the roof (the Corvette 21" rolling carry-ons will fit - see pics in thread above). Or your can use soft sided duffel bags.
