I have the OT-2 from Innovative Motorsports. I bought it for my C6 Z06 but it works fine with the C7 for reading and clearing code among other things. You do need a smart phone or laptop to use it but it's a great device and very inexpensive.
When I installed my carbon fiber dash in my C7, I do so with the battery connected. When we were testing my radar we fired the car up without the dash and console components connected which triggered a CEL code. I was able to read and clear the code easily and quickly with the OT-2. It also will provide other information as well which can be used for tuning.
