Default Update from Chevy

Just had a chat with a Chevy customer service rep to find out the status of my order since I've been in the queued for production stage for a few weeks and was told that my car was TPW 2/17/14. She informed me that the car was on the production line now and soon will become 3800, production complete. I thought the other 2/17 TPW order members would like to know that.

Not to rain on anybody's parade but I believe they do runs of the same color...I am not 100% positive of this but I had a TPW of 1/13 and I was not 3800 until 1/23. I knew other people with the same TPW and they were produced before me...they had red and I have yellow.

So it would be interesting to know what colors you guys have.

They do runs of 15 or 20 of the same color in a row, but they are building around 130 cars a day.

I believe the color thing is correct. I was at 3400 for 2 weeks with no TPW. Mine is a cyber grey vert and I saw some had gotten produced yesterday. Last night I checked at 11:30 on the website and was queued for production still and this morning at 5:30 I had moved to en route, also got a vin today. I think they do group colors.

I don't think so. I was at the factory and every color and combo imaginable came right after one another. It appeared totally random.

The only restriction is that they have to build a convertible between two coupes to keep the line running smoothly. So, there's some restriction on convertibles based on coupe sales.

They can build two coupes in a row but they cannot build two convertibles in a row for some reason.

My TPW is this week and as far as my dealer can tell, it should be completed later today. It's a Blade Silver, 2LT Kalahari, Z51.

I'm Laguna Blue with a 2/17 TPW and via Chevy chat I'm still at 3400 and not 3800. I was hoping to actually get a VIN during this week but there's only a few hours left

Thanks for the first hand knowledge, the few pictures I had seen of the assembly line had similar colors. I had read about convertibles having to be staggered in production.

I spent two days at the factory this week watching my VY Coupe get built and I can say that over those two days they did 'batch' the colors. Torch Red, White, Yellow, Red Metallic, Cyber Grey.... all in batches of at least 5 cars in a row. Every 3rd car was a vert, and about every 5th car was foreign market (you could tell by the turn signals on the mirrors)

The green prestige edition verts were scattered throughout the line, but otherwise it was batches of colors.

I've been to the BGAP twice since the start of the C7 line. I can tell you they do build in groups (colors) but just how many in each group is variable. It seems maybe about 6 or so of the colors together but sometimes more. No two verts together as has been mentioned in an above comment. Z51 vs base in no particular sequence and same for A6/M7 or any other combo for that matter.

My Laguna Blue coupe TPW is 2/17. I believe mine started down the line today 2/21 and will be complete on 2/24. Got a VIN yesterday.
