Personalized Plaque?
I just placed my order for a C7 and decided that I had to have the personalized plaque. My question is how does GM know what to put on the plaque? Will they eventually call or email me? Or do they just automatically put on the name of whoever ordered the car?
I heard from someone on a different forum that the museum will eventually call and ask you but I wanted to make sure.
Thank you!!!

they will call and ask the spelling and if you want all caps. Mine happened about 2 weeks after it went to 2000.

The salesman emailed me and asked what I wanted....you don't get a lot of room so keep it short.

I think there is room for 24 letters/spaces. I have to see if I can get another 1 as now that my wife has her own C7 vert ordered with just her name I want to get 1 with just my name for MY coupe !

My wife put down "Nick and Nora" since those are actually our names.

Be advised...
The plaque will add an additional 4 weeks to your build time. It is outsourced to China and they are still celebrating Chinese new year....
NOT!

Exactly what others mentioned... The museum will call. The plaque can hold up to 24 characters.
It took me a little thought on mine to get something to fit the character limit but there is a lot of fun picking a personalization.

Does the 24 characters count spaces?

OP if you are planning to have your name on the plaque, GM gave up engraving the word "for" before your name. If you want the word "for" before your name you have to include it in the 24 letter/spaces available.

We decided not to put names on our plaque. I chose "Psalms 37:4" Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart!

I was told it would only be the legal name of the buyer! Damn...now I'm wishing I would have ordered it.
