I am going to take this Core-shifter designed shifter out of my C5 and put in the C7.
Seems to be the right combination of short throw but enough leverage to get into 5th and 6th.
Well.. I gotta say that aside from the nostalgia of having a genuine Hurst shifter, I'm not a fan of the look....
The retro-look is the main reason for going to the Hurst stick.
It is worth noting that Core shifters also has a shifter of the same design that keeps the stock **** and look....
I bought a well known short shifter for a 95 BMW a long time ago and it felt like garbage compared to the original shifter. Not sure if this applies to what is out there for Corvettes but you may not like what you get is my point
Anyone aware of a short(er) throw shifter for the C7?
I do think the factory one is way too far a throw......
Hi Ken. I've put MGW shifters in all my previous cars so fast that I actually forgot they weren't stock. However, on the new car it never occurred to me....I think I'm good to go!

I think I would like it if it was black or carbon fiber, and my stock grip on it. I really like the stock hand grip, just want a shorter throw shifter under it that blends in with the car, not stands out
Same as the C-6 length of the throw. I'm adding a Hurst Billet plus.
I like the Hurst Billet and I have been changing shifters on all my 6 speeds. (6-7 of them )
Since 1993 the billet is solid and very tight but needs to be fit to the what I assume will be two rubber seal boots under the leather
shift boot!
This is where the MGW fits better because of the bulb type base fits the boots making a quiet seal. I seal the Billet to the boots and it's perfect. Short quick throw!

Someone commented on a similar forum question, that what was needed was only a short ****! If you look at the high **** on the standard shifter, you’ll see if a round ball ****, (that had the retaining screw near the bottom of the ball not in an extension below the ball) would cut the shifter throw considerably! Have not found one.
Reminds me of what we did when we had column shifters (old days)- grab the shifter closer to the column. You can try on the C7 on a 1st to 2nd shift-just grab below the shift ****!
