I received my car in mid January and it's been sitting in the garage while I wait for some reasonable weather. While getting familiar with it I noticed that the carpeting, on the passenger side in front of the seat under the floor mat, has a noticeable rise in it. When you push down, it pops back up like it a bubble. Is the carpeting glued or supposed to adhere to the floor pan? My dealer tells me that they are all like that and that is the way they come from the factory. Can that be right? The drivers side is not like that. Has anyone heard of this or have this?
Are you storing your car where it may be damp? Carpet does that when it soaks up humidity.
Just a thought. Mine is stored in cold and dry. Nothing like that has appeared.

Sounds like they may have run a batch or two with the glue robot on coffee break. Their mechanic wanted to know what I heard on the forum. It is now at the dealer for that and for the front end pulling to the right at most speeds and on local or expressway roadways. They said they have already had cars back for that and that it may be a right front tire out of round. Thanks for the quick responses. The car had been very cool and dry, Chicago winter, and I noticed the carpet the day after they brought it to my garage.
My friends C7 was like that on the passenger side. He went back to the dealer to have it fixed. Mine did not have that issue.
My dealer is trying to contact Gm to see if there is something they haven't been told about this problem. He also asked if I could ask if your friends car was repaired by the dealer and what they did, if you know. If you don't, no big deal. We shouldn't have to do their jobs for them. Thanks

Jennie, If there is a fix for this please let me know also.
According to the service people at the dealership, they have had an extensive conversation with Chevy and there is no fix. The carpet is not glued to the floor because there is a heat shield below for the cat conv and any glue would melt. I was told to wait for warm weather and the carpet should relax, become more pliable and sit flat on the floor. I told them maybe the excess (which is only near the console) could be pushed up under it if it is attached there in some way. Still sound bogus to me. I guess a few bricks and some warm weather and sunshine might flatten it out eventually.

My car 7077 also have the carpet bump, noticed it on day one. I was waiting to bring back to dealer after a couple thousand miles, figured I would have a laundry list of items to be address. Boy I was wrong!!!
The dealer is going to address the carpet issue next week.
