Engine rebuilds/replacements are not cheap.
If you alter the system you alter your warranty.

Thank You
Yes, I had same concern. The analog gauge reading shows just under 220, but when calling up the digital display in the center cluster the actual temps read 208 to 210 for water and about 198 to 205 on the oil temp. these both fluctuate up and down a couple degrees when driving, and I tend to think are more accurate than the large analog unit. After a long drive they both settle at about 208 average even on a hot day. Yes, we had one of those so far here in Buffalo!

My car's temperature indication is around 220 degree, doesn't turn the warning light on, good to go.

Im in Texas and my analog gauge reads just under 220 mark and the digital readout confirms it at 217. Obviously the analog gauge is a "dummy light" and can remain in that middle position for a wide range of temps.

My car cruising 70MPH in May at 217.....radiator and thermostat are DEFINITELY on the short list.

It is easy to misinterpret the analogue gauge.

If you look closely at the markings, the needle is really pointing to just below 210° but since the needle is on the first "2" of the 220° numbers, you think its 220°. The gauge mark closest to the last digit or the "0" is 220°.
