1.5 months old, found first rock chip while washing, thought it was a stubborn bug remain, so i ran my fingernail and more paint came off. so now I'm debating whether or not to just touch-up for now, or have it professionally painted.....
The first is rough, but it won't be the last. Get a good touch up kit if it bothers you that much. Likely no one else will notice it as much as you do...
I am purposely not driving my car on the freeway or to work until I can get it detailed and protected by film. WAY, WAY, WAY too many rocks flying around here. On Monday morning my daily driver was getting peppered and I didn't even see the truck dropping the rocks. Ends up he was about 1.5 miles ahead of me and it took awhile to catch him and pass.
I honestly don't know how some of you guys enjoy your cars getting so upset with little things like this. It's a car for the road, not the display case.

IMHO, a Corvette with rock chips all over it is worse, and more embarrassing than, squeaky brakes
I feel your pain and I have 2 so far, and most likely many more. It is a toy and is meant to be driven hard and fast and it goes with the territory. I bought it to drive it hard and get the most fun from it as possible, therefore, road rash will happen. That's why they will make more! Most likely my next one will suffer the same fate, but oh what joy it brings me to drive this magnificent machine. Road rash is like cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc. it is a consequence of life. You can overcoat the paint with a myriad of treatments, however, you most likely we get a chip on the coating that will show as well. This is from been there and done that experiences.
My advice would be don't lay on your back and look at your rocker panels!!!! With stickie tires....... you hear those rocks hitting your fender wells right??? Guess whats happening to your rocker panels????
XPEL'ed my entire car first week. Looks great and nobody can even tell its been done unless I show them where the seamlines are are. Didnt cost that much more to do the entire car. Now considering doing OPTICOAT over the top of that for a little more peace of mind and to help when cleaning the car. Very happy with my decision to clear bra the entire car.

Xpel Ultimate - complete front end to windshield/door leading edges
I've used one of these kits to repair a scratch on a 2 day old car and was amazed at the results. Haven't tried it for chips, but it should be good for that as well. http://www.autogeek.net/langka.html
