Default Break in period

So I finally get to 500 miles and my tach redlines @ 6500 rpm after the engine gets to temp. I was told at the Museum that the computer in the car won't allow the engine over 4500 rpm's until 1,500 miles. Can anyone verify this ?

Mine did the same after 500 miles. Red line was at 4500 for first 500 miles then after it went to 6500.

Not true. You can go to redline after 500 miles if up to temp. Yellow "redline" will move up from 3500 to 6500 as coolant temp increases. I have gone past 4500 at 600 miles.

Not 100% sure in the C7, but in all my C5s and C6s in the past the only stop was the rev limiter at the ultimate redine. Made no difference how many miles or what temp the engine was at. I would guess in the C7 the yellow/red line for the first 500 or when cold is just a suggestion and can be exceeded without a lowered rev limiter coming into effect. I would love to hear from an expert if I am wrong, though.

As far as a 1500 mile 4500 rpm limit, I have 1000 miles on mine and have been over 4500 many times...
