Most dealerships salesman come and go rapidly. Many are not car enthusiasts and don't take the time to learn the product that they are selling. Your average Chevrolet dealership does not sell many Corvettes and the sales people usually know much less about the car than we do.

in part you can't blame them totally, most vette people are a handful to deal with, they think they know everything, try and "test" the salesman's knowledge, become offended if they don't know something and usually become very critical when filling out the CSI report. The local small dealer avg sales guy has been on the job less than a year, and is just trying to make a paycheck work on $40k a year . A vette enthusiast is a loaded gun, many salesguys would not rather wait on.
And it is a fact that many domestic guys worth their salt defect quickly, to import dealers where the money/no headaches/volume is substantially better....
My experience in the Atlanta area are the guys who sell corvettes are very knowledgeable . They even seem to be car freaks to a point, which is good. No problems @ all and really helped me buy my C7. Thanks guys !!!

Not surprising at all. If one were to take the time to drive down dealership row here in Arlington ,TX along both sides of I-20, the majority of the dealerships have signs at their entry way drives shilling for sales help. Both domestic and import.
AtomicV8, you are a kind, kind man. I would have had some fun with him after his second insistence.
There are SOOOOO many places you could have gone with that, the least of which ended with you causing a scene claiming the dealership was pulling a bait and switch on you...at a minimum, you could have gotten a few grand off a really dirty 2014 Stingray!
I was thinking the exact same thing when I read that...
Unfortunately most dealerships do not spend any time on product training. Any training they do get is focused specifically on sales techniques and tricks.
The moral of the story is to do your own homework and never rely on getting your information from a dealership.

Hindsight is always 20/20, I thought of many different ways I could of had fun with this guy after the fact. I looked for him but I could not find him, he may have went to the restroom and looked at hisself and said you are such a dumbass.

I was pleasantly surprised, at my local Chevy dealership. I would say a small to mid size one, with a Corvette guy who really does know the cars, and options and allocation process.
You would be shocked at Harley dealerships how little the salesmen know about the products. I have to date only met one salesmen that really knew the product line, gets worse when you want a CVO (custom vehicle operations), most do not even know what it is.
