i washed my c7 for the first time, including tires and wheels--went all out. i noticed that the sidewalls of the tires are very dull, and really detract from the appearance. does anyone have a favorite spray (or whatever) that they use to brighten up the sidewall of the tire? does this stuff just make the sidewalls look fake, and too shiny, or too much done up (you know, like a woman with too much make up--hate that look) or does it really help? note: i have the michelin all season A/S 3s on, not the summer stock.

Zaino Z16 is my favorite. It lasts a long time and isn't shiny or glossy... just a deep, dark matte black finish. I apply it weekly when I wash the car and my tires look fantastic all of the time.
The other thing that is important is to really clean the tires regularly. Don't just top off the dirt with a tire dressing... clean the tire and apply the dressing to a clean rubber surface.

It's kind of like staining your deck - once you start using tire dressing you're kind of committed. My experience has been if you can get the car new / tires new with nothing every applied and just keep them clean they will look just fine - forever. I'm not a fan of the shiny tire look and it's just something else to do with every wash.

I just wash my car and tires every week. I never have applied tire treatment and my car and tires look great to me.

General Observatuon: First, thanks to all who responded. it was quite helpful. secondly, to my query, whats the best way to keep sidewalls of tires clan, the following was posted, by a very "popular" member:
"Leave it parked in your driveway and let a neighborhood dog pee on the tires".
All of the horses fans must be very proud of the forums resident troll, for his quick-witted retort. this certainly adds a lot of value to our forum.

Uh oh here we go again. The pot calling the kettle black.
Pouring fuel onto the fire is why you are labeled a troll. Trolls stir up trouble, and confrontation which is exactly what you are doing AGAIN.
The comment was meant to be funny/witty, not a personal attack on you. Shesh...
