My car arrived at the dealership this morning and I picked it up this afternoon!!!
It's a Base Torch Red, 3LT Black Interior, auto, NPP, red calipers, Z51 spoiler (not installed yet)
The hardest decision was auto vs manual. This is going to be my daily driver and Atlanta traffic is bad. But I like to shift gears. I'm hoping driving it in manual mode when I want to have fun is enough. My former car was a manual and it was a pain when I got stuck in traffic. My wife was great supporting my car habit and can't drive a stick so I went with the auto.
The second hardest decision was Z51 vs non-Z51. The Z51 package is an incredible deal and comes with some unbelievable technology. But I won't track the car. It came down to $'s. With the $3k price differential plus the cost of Z51 + MRC, it wasn't worth over $7k to me. I completely understand those that choose to buy it though.
I purchased from MacMulkin and had a courtesy delivery in Atlanta. Tommy Jr and team are fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone.
I've only put ~20 miles on it but early thoughts are very favorable. My former car was a 2009 BMW M3 with their version of MRC. The Corvette is firmer than the M3 in "sport" but not as firm as the M3 in "M" mode. The Corvette has much more low end torque (probably obvious given the displacement difference). Its been raining all day so I really couldn't push the car but it seems like it will be awesome. I love the NPP. I doubt I'll ever put it in quiet mode. The only way I wouldn't get it is if I was going to put an aftermarket exhaust on the car. The 3LT interior is very nice but not quite as nice as my BMW. I am very happy with the interior though. I just didn't want the cheap old Chevrolet style plastic and vinyl interior for my daily driver.
I just wanted to post some thoughts to help those still trying to decide what they want. I read a ton of posts that really helped me decide what I wanted.
Congrats. Mine gets built next week and I'm in Atlanta also, north of Alpharetta. I'm driving an e90 M3 which is great so I read your comments closely (I think the M3 is a great, great car.) Maybe I'll see you around....
Congrats. I made the same decsion when I bought the C6 living in Chicago. Went with automatic. I now live in Macon and only drive to Atlanta on Mondays. Plus the C7 will not be a daily driver. I am thinking manual this time...
Jeff, love that color! You will LOVE this car, congrutulations.
When the rain stops and you can drive it more, test the suspension in the different drving modes. I think you will find that the suspension stays the same on non-MSRC Corvettes.
I too started buying automatics so my wife would drive the car more. But, it seems I don't actually let her drive it very much! I hope your wife loves the car as much as you do/will.
I just took delivery last week as well purchased from Tommy Jr at MacMulkin. those folks are the best and spot on with everything.
white/ z51 manual.
if your a buyer call tommy they are great & easy to deal with.
