Well I got my vette blk/blk/blk z51, mag, npp. I've actually had it for 3 weeks but today was the first day I was able to get it out. Our weather here in Alberta, Canada has been colder than normal. The roads aren't ideal yet, still some gravel and water from melting snow. But I have been sick of waiting so I bit the bullet today and took her out for a spin.
So far it has met or exceeded all of my expectations. Steering and ride is firm, tight and responsive. Throttle response is great. Sound is amazing. Still getting use to the gear box and clutch but it is smooth and direct when I actually make a good shift. The rev match is cool but takes a little getting use to. The visibility is poor but with a little throttle input there won't be anyone in your blind spot for long. I was worried about the ground clearance, but I went over some pretty nasty approaches / ramps with no issues. Not to mention my drive way is also steep and no issues there either.
Just a question for you guys that have had your car for a while. How long did it take you to get used to the clutch / shifting. I'm looking forward to working on making smother shifts.
Overall I love it and I can't wait for warmer weather and better road conditions.

Brandin10,
Congratulations! I kind of know how you feel, just got mine today, not many miles, but I like what i see so far. Lots more exploring to do in the infotainment center and behind the wheel.
Coming from the C5, I actually like the clutch and the shifter feel, the rev matching I will need some more seat time with that.
Happy motoring

I agree I love the feel of the clutch and shifter. I guess it's mostly due to the fact that I haven't driven a manual car in quite a while!
I do know the rules but I have failed miserably with uploading the photos. Any advice would be appreciated
Open up a free photobucket.com account. Click upload and drag your photos to the box. After uploading all your photos, click on one. To the right your see several links. Click on the IMG link and it will indicate copied. Paste that into your post and it will show up. You don't paste the actual photo, just the link. I usually have 2 windows open, the post and photo bucket. That way I can go back and forth quickly.

You can also do this with tinypic.com
Good luck
I think it is QUITE a bit easier just to use the "manage attachments" feature and attach them straight from your hard drive. Pretty much any forum has the same basic function....

I had a really tough time with the clutch and gearbox at first and I've driven manuals my entire life.
I have found that the gearbox loosens up a bit after a few thousand miles and the clutch is easier to modulate -- not still very sensitive when in a rush.
I would say it takes at least a 1000 miles of driving around city streets before you can say you are used to it. Once you get used to it though it is a lot of fun. Try Rev matching and it's pretty cool sounding with the exhaust fully open.

It does sound great. I think the key to the rev matching is to make sure you keep pressure on the brake pedal while down shifting. Other wise it seems to over rev and lurch a little.

Not if you're not a supporting (i.e. paying) member.
You didn't specifically say what problems you were having shifting, but what I have found is that getting smooth upshifts is easier (at least on the C5 and C6) if I keep a little rpm while I'm selecting the next higher gear. That is, I don't allow the rpm to fall so much by keeping the throttle open a little. I don't let it fall to idle.
