Default Seat Memory Buttons

Can't get the seat memory buttons to stick, adjust everything, push
set button and #1 button at same time, no beep, settings not
memorized. Tried holding button for a very long time. Tried with
motor running or not, trans in gear or not, parking brake on or not, any other variable I could think of to no avail. Does anyone know
what the proper sequence or trick is???? Thanks

I'd try the other RKE and see if it works.

Did you do this:
Vehicle Personalization 5-41 Owner's manual

Auto Memory Recall
This allows the feature to be turned on or off.
Select Off, On - Driver Door Open, or On - At Ignition On (Automatic Transmission only).

So Elmer, I have to turn Auto Memory Recall on in order to program
the buttons, then I can turn it back off when I'm done, and operate
the buttons manually?? I have tried both fobs also.
I think I was using instruction in manual on or about 3-4 Programming Seat memory buttons.

I don't believe you hold both buttons at the same time. Push the "set" button then push the "1" button and hold until it beeps....I think.

Well, you have to turn on Easy Exit and Memory to have them function.

Which way do you want it? Do you want it to stay as you set it, period, then you don't need Memory do you?

I will have it set for easy exit and auto recall when the ignition is on. I have an A6 on order. That way I get in the car, start it and the seat and junk moves to my driving position.

Storing Memory Positions
To save positions to the “1” and “2” buttons:

1. Adjust the driver seat, outside mirrors, and the power tilt and telescoping steering column to the desired driving positions.
2. Press and hold SET and “1” at the same time until a beep sounds.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for a second driver using “2.”

You are referring to the auto entry/exit programming which at this time
does not function like you would think. When on, when you stop, or
shut off the car or open the door, the seat moves to the position you have programmed into the exit button. Then as you open the door again the seat returns to the position #1 programmed before you can
get in. I don't want it to try to work automatically because it doesn't work right. I want to hit the exit button myself when I want to get out and push the #1 button once I'm in and seated.

Mmmmmm A6 or M7? I understand that there is night and day difference on memory stuff.

Again, is memory turned on under your Vehicle Personalization? If it is and you don't get a beep, I'm stuck on ideas.

I have to hold mine about 10 seconds or try about 10 times to get it to finally beep. Don't really care, as it finally took and I don't change it.....

Elmer, I have the memory stuff shut off, shouldn't make any difference in programming the buttons, but we don't know all the
logic that went into this program, so when I get home tonight I
will turn that function on and try again, will report back. Thanks for
all your help.

Thanks Glen, I agree, once I get it set I'll be good to go, but right
now #1 or #2 are not where I want them. I want to set up #1 for
touring, and #2 for the track and exit for exit. I'll try your patient
approach as well.

I had some issues also. LT3 Z51 M7.

Don't know if it makes a difference but the Fobs are numbered. Remove the metal "key" and look inside.

Hold both keys together at the car. Clears the memory.

Now I had the easy exit on in my settings. Also had mirrors set to move down on reverse.

Got in the car set mirrors, seat and steering wheel. Pushed set and then #1. Beeped. Took my #1 fob, still in the car pressed the "lock" button. Again, this is what I did so I am giving you my play by play.

Started the car, shut it off. Opened the door (easy exit worked). Got out, closed the door and pressed the lock on the fob. Walked away, came back, touched the door and the seats & etc went to my settings. Been working ever since.

I have easy exit set, but I prefer to manually set the seat position when I get in - with a manual tranny, it's difficult for me to push the clutch in with the seat in the easy exit position.
