Put in an order for a CGM coupe in January 2014. Went to 1100 right away, and have sat there for over two months. I know that this is not unusual as I ordered a Z51.
When I went to the dealer yesterday, they told me that CGM is on constraint. BG ran out of paint????????
Or is the dealer just playing a late April Fool's joke on me?
I have not seen this week's constraint report. However, I will say that there is precedent for a color to be on constraint. It happened during the C6 model run.

As said above if they are phasing out a color late in the model year, it's not uncommon for it to go on constraint.
There have been instances where a "next year" color was painted in a limited test run - For example, there were small number (14?) of Navy Blue Metallics produced in 1998, prior to the "official" introduction as a 1999 color. I talked to guy who owned one, and he said they were all sold to GM execs (he was one at the time).
let's wait a while and see what next week's constraint list shows.
the dealer was in the top 70 nationwide, so they should have some allocations.
With all due respect, I am leery of dealers being able to deliver on promises at this point in the production year other than the top ten or so. I don't bash anyone though, and also give creedence to the possibility of CGM being constrained currently.
I'll share my experience FWIW. I placed a Z51 CGM order with the nations 30th largest Vette dealer in the beginning of February with the promise of status 2000 within four weeks. Fast forward to the 3rd week of March and my order still sat at 1100. I spoke to the GM who apologized and stated that he could not guarantee that he would be able to get my Z51 accepted by GM.
I bailed out on that order and placed the order with Tommy at MacMulkin. My order with MacMulkin is already at 3000. Yes, I walked from a pre price increase order but was it ever going to be filled? I'll never know now but I'll have my car!! If you find that CGM is not constrained, then get away from that dealer.
Hope everything works out well for you!
Mitch

I have just seen the weekly constraints list and there is nothing regarding Cyber Gray. HOWEVER, in the "production week" column it says "No Allocation" indicating this may be another "by week" for new orders. The same thing happened 2 weeks ago.
