It is subjective, and I'm with you, I think the entire dash design is great. Includind the Stingray shape. This is my first car with HUD. I like this feature a lot.

I never even noticed "the hump" until this thread. The only part I noticed is the stitching did not "transfer" to the left side.

I have owned other cars with HUD but this is my first Vette with a HUD and I love it.

I am still learning how to shift with manual transmission (not my first stick shift car) and having the gear number show on the HUD is very useful. On my almost 1,000 mile trip home I only looked at the dash to see what my miles to empty was and to find out if I was using 4 or 8 cylinders. I will probably never bother looking at how many cylinders are working after today and I probably will not bother checking how far to empty unless I take another long distance trip. Know distance to empty helps me plan food and "P" stops. If I did not need to check oil pressure, temperature, etc I would probably never look at the dash and rely sole on the HUD

EDIT

Now I have to go and look at the stitching tomorrow

There is a shift light in the HUD? I might have to change my mind about whether I would want one or not. Is it possible to get a HUD with the 1LT interior?

The shift light is VERY useful IMO... and no, you need 2LT.

It starts with green lights then yellow 4 in succession as I remember.
Pretty trick and useful as it winds quickly as you all know.
