Default USB continuous play

I plugged in a USB with mp3's saved on it, and assumed you can continuously play them similar to a CD...starts at song one and continues to song two, etc. and on and on.

But instead they are sorted by artist, and on the browse screen I have to select an artist, then the song by that artist...now if there's only one song on the USB drive of the said artist it'll keep replaying that one song until I click browse again and chose another artist manually, at which point this will repeat.

There must be a way to set it so that it doesn't break the mp3's up by artist or any other category and you can just continuously every song after another?

I am able to browse by "songs" on media and then the songs play in alphabetical order from all my media, my USB stick and my iPhone (when it is plugged in) too.

Achmed, you are browsing in Artist mode, which limits it to playing songs only from the one artist you select. You need to change to browsing by Song.

VOICE:
Using the steering wheel voice recognition button, say "Play Song" and then a song title. It will keep going from there through all songs without regard to artist.

SCREEN:
Go to Media. Press the Browse icon on the left. Look at the bottom of the screen... It lists Song, Artist, Genre, etc. Touch the Song button and you can browse through all songs. It will keep going from there through all songs.

By the way, you can use the Menu icon on the screen to toggle Shuffle Mode on or off to play songs in order or randomly.

Thanks guys, that sounds easy!

Here's another "continuous play" issue....
Even after engine shut down and exit the car
the USB continues cycling through the playlists
even tho there is no sound, draining the battery...
no biggie for daily driving, but over the long run
leaving USB plugged in would be a real battery drainer...

I think that this may be the case with my SD card sitting inside of the console. I purposely stop a song at the end of its playing time when I am getting out of the car with the expectation that the next time I use the car, the next song will begin to play when I start the music. Nope...something causes the SD card to be scanned even when the car is off so when I get into the car the next time, it starts to play a song in midstream or whereever but not at the beginning to the next song that followed the one I ended on purpose the last time I used the stereo. Weird outcome to me but I suppose the solution is to pop the SD card out of the console input when I am finished using the car and then just pop the card back in when I want to use the car the next time. Maybe there are others that are finding this quirk (it is to me?) on their cars and have alternative issues or suggestions as to how to overcome this nuisance?

It seems like what you're saying is accurate.

My concern is when I listen to an audiobook. You need to turn it off and later have it continue where you left off.

In my other USB-sticked cars, you listen, turn the car off, book stops, start car, the book continues where it left off.

Time for another call to MyLink support?
