I know that Chevrolet generally does consensus every other Thursday. Does anyone know what time of the day they usually announce allocations for that period?
Dealer has a final allocations by week report that is available prior to Thursday's consensus. The dealer will use this report to match the orders. I think Thursday evening is when orders have to be in. GM's actual pickup is on Monday.
According to the salesman who took my order, the dealer just did their consensus (I am guessing today?) and asked for 7 Corvettes. He then added that they would not get an answer from GM until Tuesday of next week. Does that sound right?

I really don't know this factors in but I do remember that I happened to place the order for my car on a Thursday (the same day the dealer was informed they had a matching allocation) and I was told I had until the following Tuesday to make any changes.
As I understand it Consensus is done twice a month, it tells the dealer what to expect over the next 2 weeks. Every Thursday dealers are assigned allocation based on that consensus. They have until Monday evening to assign orders to the allocation. Tuesday is when GM picked up those orders and their status changes to 2000.
It's a lot more complex than that when you start getting into the details such as dealers not consuming allocation, etc. so this is just a high level view. BTW, it's the same for every model they sell, not just the C7.

This just seems to be the opposite of everything I have read on this forum. I thought that dealers find out on consensus Thursday exactly how many allocations they get for the cycle, then immediately place their standing order numbers against those allocations, knowing those specific orders will in fact be accepted by GM that following Tuesday. I don't understand why (according to my dealer) the customer would have to wait until the following Tuesday to find out if his car was actually accepted to be built by GM. Or am I just looking to deeply into this whole "allocation" thing?
