If I have missed another post on this topic forgive me for asking the same question..
Does anyone know when the current labor contract at BG expires?
My car is now scheduled to be built during the week of May 5th and I assume it will be shipped about two weeks later so I am concerned that the emotion that surrounds labor negotiations and even a strike will have a negitive impact..
BUT if the car is on the road to the dealer before the S_ _ _ hits the fan I will be a happy camper...

The contract is good for a few more years. The current situation is just a little muscle flexing by some union bosses who aren't happy with some of the things plant management is doing.
Don't worry, I don't imagine that the national union would approve a strike for what they are currently discussing.
As someone who spent 90% of his employment life holding various offices in local unions, almost all of them as the grievance person, I am astounded at the amount of discussion one local union strike vote has instigated. One would think this to be an unusual event in labor relations. Although strike votes are markedly reduced of late, they are more normal than not, the reason being (admittedly I am biased) management generally demands one before getting serious. Sad but true. Disagree with me as you will, but unless you have devoted a similar amount of time to labor relations as I have, I will likely look at your response as an uninformed position and take it as such.
Again, I am astonished at the responses, but for what it is worth the auto national contracts generally expire after Labor Day and it is rare for a local strike to take place before the national contract is in place. My memory is the no strike provision expires with this current national agreement so there could be a strike in September. Could but not likely.
As I understand from independent sources the Unions destroyed Detroit and Akron. As a mititary retiree I don't have first hand knowledge so. My ideas come from people that were affected by the mass erosion of jobs.
I hope the unions don't cause a delay in anyone's C7 delivery.
