My first Vette-will I miss my Infiniti G37?

Well, that's the stupidest thing I've heard all day....and by a wide margin!!!
It's actually not even worth getting into an extended argument over because if you have the capacity to make a statement like that I'm pretty sure there's absolutely no hope having a logical discussion with you.

Yes that was a little broad, sorry, but my friend got hammered 1600.00 for a transmission seal leak on his X5, he is going back to North American and my experience was not much better. Also it may have been stupid for a first post but ya gotta amid it was a little funny I must admit that I am really excited about the new products coming out of the Big three, they are doing a great job.

It's been my experience that people that buy foreign cars and trucks are not really true car enthusiasts, they just want a car to be like a great toaster and work. That may be practical but it's not cool. ( I tried imports once and came back and will never stray again after some 2500.00 brake jobs etc.) The North American auto industry has really pulled up there socks.

My wife has a G37 convertible and it is a very enjoyable car to drive. Nice interior and the car handles pretty well. When we want the open air driving experience the G37 is hands down more comfortable than my C6 Z51 coupe due to the wind turbulence in the cabin. Other than that it is no comparison in my opinion. I will choose the Vette every time and as I mentioned it is not even a C7.

That's because those cars are built around autobahn speeds. Go haul a typical American car down from 250 on the binders on a regular basis.

My feeling is that hopefully you won't miss the G37. It is certainly a nice car, but you bought the Corvette for a reason.

A good friend of mine had a G35 coupe which he sold and purchased a C7.
I asked him once if he missed the G, his reply "Which G"?

OP- The only thing you'd miss in the G37 is seating and room... although sometimes I like the simplistic Navigation controls in the Infiniti but that's strecthing it. If I had to pick just one, I'd give up the G37 anytime for a C7... but I need it, it's my beater DD.

Really? How would anyone besides you be able to answer that question.

I've got a C6 and an Infiniti G37X. My Infiniti is my bad weather/winter driver. I never miss it when I'm driving my C6. It will be even better when I have my C7 for the upcoming driving season here!

Had G37 and now C7
I loved my G37 but a young girl ran a red light and totaled it . Since I had 3 vetts before and loved the style and info on the new C7 I bought one. Driving around town the C7 is almost as quiet and rides more like the Infinity then any vette I had till you make love to it and the car changes it personality . If it was a woman I was describing I would say a lady on the street and a s--t when you get on her.

Some of the posts here really saddens me to read. Bashing other brands will not make your brand or your corvette any better. I own a Silverado High Country as my work truck, a Lexus LS460 for family trips and long distance travel, an Infiniti G37 convertible and still bought my 2015 C7 convertible when I found the one I want with the options I want. If we think fairly like adults we'll know that everyone gets what they like within their budget. If you are a real enthusiast, you should know that each car has a different taste and a real fair enthusiast would appreciate what each car has to offer. Personally, I enjoy the G37 convertible a lot and even having my C7, I would still keep it. Now, back to the original post, I think you will miss your Infiniti but you'll also enjoy the C7 a lot. Good luck.

Having said that, once I got into the C7, I don't even look back at the G37. It's in an entirely different class. The interior is just as nice in the vette. A couple things I do notice is the ride stiffness of the vette compared to the G37, the G37 was smoother, but I can attribute that to the Z51 suspension and I accept that as handling in the vette is far superior. I feel much more in control than I ever did in the G37 Sport.
The navigation of the C7 has a lot to be desired. Even in a 2012 model of an Infiniti, I preferred the nav of the G37 over the C7 version.
But those are minor complaints and to answer your question if you will miss your G37, it's a resounding NO. Completely different car, looks, POWER, handling, and the pure gobs of attention the C7 gets is not even comparable to the G.
