In the C7 automatic, does on paddle shifter control up gear and the other down gear, or can you push/pull either shifter to go up or down? My BMW has the up or down on either paddle while my wife's Mercedes has up on one side and down on the other side. Spending more time in a BMW I have become used to up or down on either hand, is also nicer in cornering. Drove a 911 auto with paddle shifter, almost peed myself because push vs pull is opposite of the BMW. The salesman, did pee himself... Just kidding, thinking he was about to score a $115K sale, he said not a word...
In any case, I am still short a two seater sports car and am thinking of parking my behind in a new C7. Last Vette was a droptop C5, bought when there were few on the streets. Was fun to have a "rare" car. Congrats to you early buyers of the C7. I know it must feel great to tool around in a rare car!
Thanks in advance for any paddle shifter notes for a guy on the prowl for a new car.

Pull up left side for downshift, pull up right for upshift...
Pull up left side for downshift, pull up right for upshift...
Thanks for the quick reply! Not a deal killer, but a bummer for me that they aren't push and pull. I suppose there is a reason for one over the other. In my case, I am used to push/pull.
Only took me one day of driving to transition to the changed shift configuration. .... Just takes a little time to reinforce memory. My wifes BMW 4 series has the same Pull up left side for downshift, pull up right for upshift..
oh and put it in the sport/Track mode and the exhaust baffle on downshifts will reinforce mental memory.... what a sweet sound with the Perf exhaust
It dosen't matter!
Unfortunately the A6 is such old technology you won't bother using them.
Slow - not crisp up or down shifts.
Other than that - a great sports car!

Do you arrange for rain on days that parades are scheduled?
The response time is not as crisp as I would like and I too prefer the up and down sequence on the same shift control. The A8 may resolve the response time issue.

FYI, even BMW has moved away from this as Rohey said about the 4 Series. My 2008 335i had the push/pull paddles that you described but my 2011 135i has left pull downshift/right pull upshift. I think this transition started around 2010 and it took me about a week to adjust.
In preparation for my transition from my 2011 135i to a 2015 C7, my biggest concern is the lack of manual shift controls on the shifter in the C7. It is nice to have the option of manually shifting with paddles or the shifter.

Wow, I am surprised about the BMW shifters. My BMW is an 08 335i coupe and is now serving duty under my daughter's foot. I can't imagine a benefit of going away from push / pull on the shifters. I haven't considered a new BMW so I didn't know they changed. Thanks for the info.

BMW just can't make up its mind. If you think the paddle changes are confusing, BMW also changed the shifter controls way before that.
On my 2000 323i, you push the shifter forward for upshift and pull the shifter backward for downshift. Then BMW reversed that on my 2001 330i.
