I don't like it that On Star can monitor your every move. Next thing you know the police will be knocking at the door saying I was speeding. LOL!
Is there any way to disable the On Star? I don't want it and I don't need it.

Oh brother....well, if you are that paranoid, do a little research on the "Black Box" that is integrated into your car that records just about every thing you do. Speed, braking, turn signals, rate of acceleration, how hard you hit your brakes, etc.
Reminds me of my question last week about the PDR recording your every move for eventual liability. In short, I was reminded that the most recent 30s of post-crash data for every recent vintage car are available to law enforcement due to black box recording.
However sympathetic I am to the OP's question, we're fighting a losing battle for driver privacy. It's only a matter of time before speeding tickets get automatically mailed out based on pings of your cell phone tattling on you. If it's not OnStar, another electronic device will rat you out (e.g., your toll road transponder).
I am afraid in a very few years it is going to be insurance premiums controlling "privacy". Several of the larger companies have been offering discounts if you allow them access to OnStar or other telematics data, Progressive has their own plug-in for the OBD2 connector. What starts as discounts for the small number who sign up now will ultimately turn in to very large surcharges for those who resist this intrusion into their lives and at some point probably refusal of coverage for those who don't comply.

the progressive one only monitors hard brakes apparently... my ex gf had it in her ford escape and I drove it alot and drive pretty aggressively and as long as u dont jam on the brakes it didnt record it... the only time it had hard brakes recorded was when it was at the dealer for a service and progressive wiped that off her record cause she had the dealer receipts for proof.

It currently is quite a bit more "curious" about your driving habits:
The risk industry is constantly trying to better define and localize risks as those who live in the coastal zones have learned in recent years through greatly increased rates.
