Default Fun with Plastidip...>

Decided to change the look and see how I liked it. $30 worth of Antracite Metallic Plastidip and some Glossifier from Dipyourcar and BAM! $30 Investment...I like it. Close match to my Cyber striping and I can peel it off if I change my mind. Neat stuff..

That is BANG for the Buck !!! $30 dollars and your time into it, awesome.
And as you said if you change your mind it is easy to undo it and if you want try another.
Looks great, thanks for sharing and let us know how they hold up.

That looks great. Really a nice match with your stripes. I have a silver coupe en route to the dealer now, and I'm convinced this is the best color for this car!

Have you lowered the car on the factory bolts?

A few more in the sun...The "glossifier" gives it a little sheen..

Just wondering. Do you need to take the wheels off to apply that?

Unless you want to dip the calipers and rotors or try to tape them off they yes.

I would NEVER get near the car with a can of paint, whether it's plastidip or anything else. Take them off and do it in a place far away from the car or cover the car if you are doing it in the same garage.

Thought you didn't need to shield the tires as the PlastiDip would peel right off?

plastidip peels easily when it is thick and multi coats, like around a badge

but when it's overspray and thin, it can't be a true "sheet" and therefore you have to pick it off...

In my experience it isn't too hard to clean off of a tire. Just clean the tire when you are finally done as a thicker coat will peel off more easily. Also, any firm brush will clean it right up with a little scrubbing. Either way, cleaning after or taping before both seem to be the same amount of work on the tires.

I'm wondering why you'd even want to go through that hassle?? Slipping in the cards took about 1 minute per wheel. Clean edge, no clean-up - No brainer
