I'd consider the HTC One M8. Apple's system is too closed. I love being able to drag/drop files/MP3's etc from my pc right to my phone (HTC One M7) without having to use iTunes.
Plus the HTC One M8 has a micro SD slot that supports up to 128 GB IIRC. I believe it also has the 2nd most pixels per inch for a phone display.
The camera however does leave something to be desired.
When you connect your iPhone does it allow you to select playlists, etc from the console vs. your phone. I can't seem to figure that out. I dumped my songs, playlists, etc. to a USB and it is so much easier to select from the steering controls when the display is set to audio. Plus the songs display on both the various panels as well as the HUD. SJ
I have an older iPod touch that I have hooked into the USB behind the screen in the secret compartment...I have access to everything playlist, searching etc all from the console and even just say "play jumping jack flash" and it goes right to the song....I'd imagine the iPhone does the same I just wanted something in the car at all times...unless I can get this viewing texts thing to work...
One thing I have noticed is that certain CPU and data-heavy apps, the standard 500ma USB is not enough to keep up and the battery is actually depleted even when the phone is plugged in to the USB port. Charging from the 12v cigarette lighter style plug can supply more current to the phone than the built-in USB plug and the right charger can charge the phone faster and/or keep up with power-hungry apps.
Ok my C7 arrives sometime in June about the same time I get a smartphone upgrade. I have 3 in mind Nokia Lumia 930(Windows), Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Apple 5.
Any one of these have a leg up when used in the C7??
Also I have a ton of MP3 music, if I switch to Apple am I going to purchase itune versions??
Any info will be greatly appreciated
Just remember Apple phones have special apple files that you would have to convert if you took some other source and tried to load it on your phone to be be played later from cellphone to car !!! One of the few companies I know come that has a conversion program comes from NCH company !!! Example: wav or mp3 files from computer ,cd player etc---the apple phone !!! I had to do this to convert cd's---computer---itunes ( none apple computer )---nano Ipod !!! Wayne
