There seems to be a bit of confusion as to what the published constraint percentages mean. If an option is list as constrained at 20%, does that mean:
a. 20% of the orders can have the option and 80% can not
or
b. 80% of the orders can have the option and 20% can not
?
No, I would not expect a general manager to know. I suould expect such to know, but expectations are a fifty/fifty thing.
A couple of years ago I had a general manager tell me - in the middle of the showroom filled with sales persons and more than a few customers - that I knew nothing about the ordering process. I went home, the next day I cancelled my order, and before the end of the week I placed the order with a different dealer.
The GM may have been correct. I know a little (learned through trial and error) but did not need to be told how little I knew.
Two retail sold deliveries later, I have yet to reenter that dealership's showroom. And in the future I likely never will.

It is amazing how ignorant some of these dealerships are. I went out shopping for a new CTS for my wife at our local Caddy/Chevy store, driving the C7. No-one at the dealership had ever seen a C7 before. This was about a month ago, so it wasn't like it was right off the first truck.
