Default Catch Can chatter.....

I've noticed some forum chatter regarding installation of catch cans o the C7. Specifically, whether a dual exit port can is required or not and why. I don't claim to be a mechanic or someone who is knowledgeable of the new lt1 engine, but I did find some pretty good catch can installation instructions with explanations at the RXPerformance web site. Those that are interested, my find it to be a good read.

I believe some or all of it is posted in the tech section of the forum here also.

just thought I'd share.....

Good information. VietnamVet also had a post previously that showed installation of a RX Performance dual exit catch can onto a Z51 and explained the WOT evacuation system.

RX Peformance has recommended the dual exit can for months and I think they say this is to ensure continuous evacuation even during WOT, although I don't know if they recommend different cans for dry sump vs. wet sump the way that Elite does.

I just can't seem to find an explanation as to why a Z51 would have a two exit can and a wet sump needs only one exit.

Nor have a I found anything that explains whether a continuous evacuation system on a naturally aspirated car is needed for the LT1.

Maybe people who know the answers will chime in.
