Default Yellow ring on tach

Yesterday morning while leaving my house, I hit it pretty hard and noticed a yellow ring on my tach. Have not seen it before and do not recall reading anything in the manual about it. Does it signify cold tires or something?

It signifies a cold engine. There is a partial ring that shows up when you start the engine and once the engine warms up, the ring disappears. When you hit it hard, it was telling you that the warm up ring was still lit and you were at a higher RPM than recommended until the engine warms up.

It's a pretty cool feature.

The first time I saw it was the very next trip after the initial 500 miles, when the redline went up. I thought "Wait! I saw the redline normalize, so WTF?" Confused the heck out of me. Now, it's a good reminder to take it easy in the morning.

I think it was a problem with the Flux Capacitor or there wasn't enough fuel in Mr. Fusion. I'd check with Doc to be sure it's OK.

I never go over 88 MPH until the Car is warmed up anyway.

been working on a friends cummins 2500 lately and been having lots of problems with the flux capacitor... (sad part is he made the joke to my boy's 18 year old shop hand and he had no idea what we were talking about and he admitted hes never seen back to the future )

Really wasn't banging on it that hard. Noticed it again today. Seems like it comes on all the time until it warms up from 2000 rpm up. I back off before 4000 rpm anyway.
