Default Alarm operation?

Wondering if anyone has more info on the stock alarm system installed in a 3LT?

I tried to make the alarm go off by pounding on the car (both the windows and panels), rocking the car back and forth by pushing with my areas, and waving my arms inside the car with the windows down and top off. At least the little red light works What else does it do?

From what I understand, the motion sensor is disabled when the top is down/off. I've not heard what the rationale is; maybe they thought a leaf might fall into it and set it off, but if you ask me, when you have the top down/off is when you would need it most.

there is a fix for this...a small removable object put in the driver side hole re-engages the alarm when the top is off...

Glen e - you need another mod. Paint that wall plug to match the black trim.

So alarm unit doesn't include a impact sensor (someone hitting a panel, the glass, sharp jolt, etc...)?
