I used the nav a lot last weekend and found:
1. The HUD display is almost too dim to be usable when wearing polorized sunglasses.
2. The nice lady is so soft spoken that she is hard to hear with the windows down or top off. (If you turn up the volume you get blasted by the radio in between nav commands.)
I resorted to watching the nav display to see where to turn next.

I couldn't get the nice lady to understand voice commands. By the time I gave up I was pissed off and she was a beach. Personally, I find the nav to be the poorest feature of the C7.
I have the radar detector temporarily on the dash in front of the steering wheel. Awful lot of reflection in the windshield while in the sun. Waiting for reviews on the new Blendmount. Ken?

Page 28 of the manual will show you how to control the NAV Lady voice volume independent of the radio volume.
I know by posting this I will just encourage all the comedians in the forum to post their replies about listening to a lady for directions.
The nav directions come up on the basic HUD display (digital speed, selected gear) defaulted automatically. It works real good, based on my limited experience. Voice commands; I tried to make a phone call, didn't happen, back to the manual. My Nissan Leaf has trouble understanding me too. Needless to say, voice recognition needs improvement - or is it me??

Really? I've found the C7's VR to be VERY reliable (maybe my voice?). Now the C6's VR was REALLY crappy! As for the Nav itself? WORLDS ABOVE the one in the C6 too

I have the 2LT with NAV and use it frequently. I've been used to the Lexus/Toyota adaptations so getting used to this one was like a refresher course in 'logic' but designed by someone born on the other side of the Mason/Dixon . Once I got used to their drumbeat tho, it wasn't/isn't that bad. I just have to use whichever side of my brain that applies to the particulate car in the garage . Seriously it works well once used to it. But I'm sure the designer was female in gender because it sometimes just can't understand me . Or is it the other way around ?????
