Default Which Driver Selection Mode?

Hi,

Just curious, what driver mode are most folks with an automatic trans finding gives them best acceleration, trans shifts and when cruising around town and on the highway? I recently got my C7.

I play with it a lot.... Cruised out to the Mountains this past weekend in Tour....kept the wife happy and got 33.9 mpg on the level road for 380+ miles. In the mountains, track seemed best while manually shifting in some aggressive driving through some VERY twisty roads. 2-3rd gear mostly used and blipped downshifts seemed to work to keep things smooth. Most of the time around town I'm in sport because I like the shift points and exhaust sounds..If I'm in a relaxed mood, I trigger Tour.
I really like the Jeckyl/Hyde personality the various modes give you...You paid for em, Use em all!!!

33.9 MPG wow! It amazes me that with the C6 and now the C7, that GM/Chevy do not have an ad campaign bragging about 450+ HP, 0-60 in less 4 secs and over 30 MPG!!!!

Yeah, it amazed me too. I left home with 500 miles on the car. 400 miles out and 400 back. 400 miles in VERY aggressive mountain running over 3 days. 26.9 mpg overall for the 1200 miles....Amazing!

I stay in Sport mode most of the time just for the sound. I don't notice a lot of difference between Tour and Sport for around the town driving, other than sound. (Not a lot of opportunity in the Dallas area for driving some twisties so I have no experience there...)
I flip to Tour when I get home at night so I don't wake the neighborhood leaving for work at 7am.

I have never come close to 30+ mpg even on a 60 mile highway trip at 65 mph. Mostly in the 25-27 mpg range. Maybe I like the sound a little too much...

Most people who I've personally talked to use the sport mode the most. I'll definitely test them all out when my C7 arrives next month but I imagine that I will turn sound management off and then keep it in sport mode 99.9% of the time.

Touring mode with exhaust baffles open at all times. Used to leave it in Sport mode for sound (same diff if you program baffles open at all times in any mode), but, really did not like the PAL experience in Sport mode when I'd aggressively acellerate with resulting rev'd up rpms when I backed off the acellerator.

They may get complaints because the over 30 is at highway speed and cruising. The second the foot hits the gas it goes from 30 to 8 or less. Its amazing how gas friendly these cars are. At one time it was labeled the highest performance machine without a gas guzzler tax.

But it may just be me but when I watch any chevy commercial its focus is on Malibu's and cruzes and they never mention corvette anywhere but where special offers say this offer is good on all models except "corvette"

I keep mine in sport mostly unless I am on a long highway trip then I'll switch to tour.

Got caught in the rain 2 weeks ago and used the weather mode and I thought it was pretty cool. Not necessary but it did keep the tires from spinning if I was a little aggressive of the line.

Have not been on a long enough trip yet to make economy a worthwhile try.

It would be nice if you could choose the transmission shift settings and make them fixed to all drive modes like you can the steering because I like the Track transmission shifting, but the Mag Ride changes that come with Track mode are definitely not something I want to tolerate when just cruising around.

No reason to turn management off if you are always in Sport mode. If you do you lose the ability to quickly turn the sound off when you need to. Like leaving the donut shop where there is a LEO convention... (Or in the morning to be nice to the neighbors.)
