fill car, Reset trip... drive car, fill with gas. Divide miles driven by number of gallons filled.

Lifetime is 20.x according to Onstar mobile app.

I bought it about six weeks ago and have 2600 miles. Driving home (450 miles) I averaged 28.9 bouncing 4th-7th to keep RPMs moving during the break-in.

My daily driving averages about 27 miles per hour which has been getting about 18 mpg. Tooling down the highway in eco mode I've seen mid 30s. When I tried some highway hypermiling, I got 40.2 over 5 miles.

I'm looking forward to dedicating some time to testing how much fun I can have getting bad mileage and still be moving.

I'm not giving you instant mpg figures !!! I actually drove the miles and used that much gallons of gas over 1 week ( 3200 miles ) of driving 10-12 hours a day or more over various road conditions and you say the figures of miles driven on the odometer is incorrect ??? And the gas you used according to the center screen is incorrect ??? Have you actually used the center screen that shows miles driven and gas used ???? Wayne

We have a Winner

Don't forget to takes notes as to whether it was City or Highway.

That is THE only way to truly test your MPG.

I have a car that consistently says x on the screen but in Real World testing it's not even close.

Those computer generated MPG are all BS

I believe the real world would be different every where you go. I mean your not going to get the same performance out of your car in Veil CO. as you would in say Atlantic City NJ where the elevation is just above sea level. The numbers are probably conducted and calibrated for sea level. If I am wrong im sorry and please would like the right answer

I didn't reset anything find the screen that shows miles and gas used !! I drove 3250 miles and at the end I had used 122.18 gallons of gas and I stopped 10-12 times for gas !!! There is a center screen that shows miles and gas used and I am not talking about instant mpg !!! Wayne

Who cares about city or highway !!! How about you take a long and then tell us what mileage You got !!! Because that's what I tell people in our club because there are so many variables beside modes there's how hilly or flat the terrain the weather and a million more !!!Wayne

Non-Z51, automatic. Over the first 2300 miles I am averaging 20 mpg. But 90% of that is suburban roads, commuting to work. Lots of stop lights and signs. I haven't checked open highway mileage because I've only done about 30-40 freeway miles so far. I seldom average more than 25-27 mph on a tank-full. Seems like I could go almost that fast on a bicycle...

However, it does seem like I get a lot worse mpg when the NPP valves are open in Sport mode.

Yes, I'm aware of this. I was just answering the question.

I noticed something profound... I'll know more as I give it more time but it seems that since my car rolled over 10000 miles... it suddenly has begun to get significantly better gas mileage. The past day I've seen a profound jump in economy.

At just under 2000 miles, average calc'd by car is around 17mpg. Maybe 40% hwy, maybe a little less. Driven with heavy foot and happy heart.

Z51 M7 Coupe with 2650 miles
On a recent trip to BG for the Bash (500 miles each way), I got 27 mpg in tour (V8) at about 78 mph. Tried ECO mode for the return trip and got 28 mpg.
Yesterday took a 100 mile trip (50 each way), One way got 27.5 in ECO, and 27 return in tour.
IMHO, the wear and tear of the 4 cylinder change is not worth the extra small gain in mileage, so I'll continue to drive in tour for most times.

According to gas receipts and my math, I am getting roughly 17 miles a gallon as a daily driver in the city. When I did some highway driving about 200 miles at 70-79 miles an hour, I averaged about 32 miles a gallon using the same math. I am pretty happy with that considering when I had a Honda Accord (4 cylinder) got 33 on the highway and about 20-25 in the city. By the way, mine is a base model automatic with 3344 miles on it.

I took a 2 hour one way trip on the hwy last weekend. Completely stock, 7 speed. 70mph cruise control and I averaged 32mpg on the DIC.

Hey you guys should use fuelly. It's an easy and free way to track fuel usage online. Much better than pen and paper. There are only 3 stingrays on currently including me. Fuelly.com

Better have your car checked. I feel no "jar"

In my experience, the gas gauge operates inversely proportionally to my smile.... This has applied for every generation of 'Vette I have ever driven, so long as this is the case, I will always be happy with my economy.
