How long you have from the time you purchase your car to take advantage of the discount?
If my wife wanted to drive as well, would she have to pay full price or would the discount apply to her also?
Are all the cars manual trans? My wife is still learning to drive a stick.
I don't know the answer to your first question but you only get to use the discount for one person and the spouse must pay full price. They had two autos and both were used by participants in our class this week. I would suggest telling them that you need it ahead of time so that they can reserve it for you.

I attended the school in March of 14 and yes it is very informative. My problem is they didn't honor the discount. GM announced the discount 3 days after I attended. I took the 3 day school which was over $3500 and asked the VP for the discount and basically said I was out of luck. He also shared with me their were people in the class the day of the announcement and they didn't receive the discount either. The school knew in January GM was going to give discounts to C7 owners but wanted to be greedy and not honor the discount until the end of March. This display of greed isn't good for the schools name and reputation. Yes its true GM reimburses the school but its not for the full amount. Think twice about the character of the owners of this school. Spread the word.

Whatever. So if you buy a car and three days later they announce a rebate you expect to get that too? It doesn't work that way in the real world.
[QUOTE=sajonf;1586849051]We stayed on one track the whole time, as there was another class on the other track. We had the 1 1/2 mile track on the west end of the ranch and it was a fantastic track. Very tight and technical with a lot of variety in the turns.
You can go as fast as your ability will allow. In the two day school that GM sponsors for C7 owners we did mostly lead/follow where the instructor was out front but you set the pace with how close you were to him. When you got faster so did he. The unbelievable thing was they were in a Camaro SS 1LE, driving one handed, talking on the walkie talkie and looking in the mirror critiquing us. All the while I am driving BEHIND him at what felt like a very fast pace. The normal three day Level 1 school has open lapping on day three where you are out on the track on your own.
By the end of day two we were topping out at around 100 MPH down the backstretch on a very tight track. It felt like a hell of a lot faster.
The most fun thing we did was the "demo" session. We hopped in the car with an instructor and went for a ride. Unbelievably thrilling, almost scary. They are crazy good, smooth and fast. At the end when they said they were required to only drive 60-70% of their ability I was amazed. This car is so capable on the racetrack it's ridiculous. The ride along was worth the $1,000 alone and all of my classmates agreed.[
I've been to two of Skip Barber courses and planning on Ron Fellows course. I've had my own car up to 157 mph. Can you go faster than that at Ron Fellows??

Funny they told me to wait for the discount before I sign up

Definitely not on the 1.5 mile course we were on, it was tight and technical which I really enjoyed. We hit 95-100 down the longest straightaway. I don't know if they put all Corvette Owners schools on that course or not but they do have a 2.2 and a 2.5 mile course also which I assume will allow higher speeds. For me it's not about how fast you can go in a straightaway - I really enjoyed trying to increase my corner speed and smoothness.

It really is. Every instructor I talked to couldn't believe how much better the C7 was on the track than the C6. They said the the C7 is about a second faster on the 1.5 mile course we were on than the C6 ZR1. That tells you how tight and corner heavy the 1.5 mile course is.

After a plane flight to vegas Probably the day before classes whats the best thing to do. Rent a car, pay for an extra night in vagas or at spring mountain ? Fly home late after the course ? Whats an extra night at spring mountain cost.? thanks
Depends on where you are coming from and how much time you can have off. I am in Vegas now since yesterday from Seattle for the level 2 course Monday,Tuesday. Staying at Las Vegas hotel( formerly Hilton) at 25 a night plus resort fee. Will be at spring mountain condos sun , Monday then one more night in Vegas to fly back Wednesday. Wife has rental car in her name. Drive time to Vegas about one hour. 80+ degrees now. Bring shorts. Had c7 owners discount applied to my course btw.
No charge for a guest other than for meals ($8 for breakfast and not more than $15 for lunch, depending on lunch option). Guest cannot drive the cars or ride with you, but can sit in on the classroom sessions and ride with the instructors. Guest has full use of the other amenities (pool, fitness room come to mind).
So yes, your wife can come along for free if she doesn't plan on driving.
My wife came along both times, and will be there next time as well. The condos are great, and she used the facilities while I was driving, met me for lunch and sat in on a few classroom sessions. Couldn't convince her to do the ride along though, maybe next time. I get the School and she gets several days in Vegas afterwards for Spa treatments, shopping and enjoying those great Hotels.

I flew in the day before and stayed two nights (the night before and the night between the two day class) and took the red eye home. You will be done by 4PM each day and it's an hour drive back to McCarran Intl. So you can take any flight after 6PM or so. I took an 8:15PM flight out and it worked out perfectly. I had plenty of time to get to the airport, have a beer and pump a few coins in the slot machines. The extra night in the condo is $110
Staying in a condo onsite is great! Walk to your room after a long day and wake up and drive!
Everything about the entire facility is top notch
The food was great! They have breakfast buffet for $8 and lunch is provided
Instructors were great. Not only were they knowledgeable but they are very enthusiastic to make you a better driver. They are very detail oriented and personable. You won't hesitate to ask them questions or elaborate on anything.
The curriculum is fantastic. They make sure you learn a ton about car control, balance and vision before you ever hit the track. It was extremely valuable on the racetrack and will transfer to the road to make you a better driver.
I'm signed up for July. On the two day Corvette class we have about 16 hours total.
Lunch 2
Registration 1
