A friend was told by a dealership in Montana that a ZR1 Stingray will be available for 2015. I have not read about this anywhere. Can anyone on the forum confirm this?

Your friends dealership is mistaken. Z06/07 in 2015.
We can confirm that this dealer was clueless or your friend misunderstood what they were being told.
What would be really nice is if they were to add an option of a "horsepower upgrade" of some kind. I have "no clue" how BMW did it on my 2013 X-5 50I but for $1,795.00 I added an extra 40 horsepower. It was a special software package of some kind. In stead of the normal 400 horsepower I got 440 horsepower. If you don't believe me just ask a BMW dealer about the 2013 models in the X-5 series.

Only in Montana.
The rest of us will have to be content with a mere 625hp/635tq Corvette Z06. If that's what your FOAF meant, the confusion is understandable, since this is very close to the last ZR1. The coupe should be hitting the showrooms in about January, the convertible just in time for spring weather. Here's the official word: http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-z06-supercar.html

Your friend made the mistake of taking what a car salesperson said as fact.
Interesting. While checking out 2 local dealers in WI today regarding GM Supplier pricing on a C7, both brought up both the Z06 and ZR1 for 2015. Both stated 825 HP for the ZR1.
Time to touch base with Les Stanford for a 2015 C7 Z51 Coupe.
Also found out the following. NO black wheels for 2015-----going to be gray.
2015 Z51 price increase of 2K, but the NPP exhaust is standard.

So, that's really a price increase of $805 for the 2015 Z51, since NPP is $1195 and almost everyone orders it anyway.

There definitely will be black wheels for 2015; they'll be available on non-Z51s as well as on Z51s. Fact.
GM will have something more up its sleeve for beyond 2015, but safe to say 2015 belongs to the Z07 and some tweaks to the base model, including the 8 speed auto. Thats plenty for one year. Stay tuned.
